How about Ryan Broom . . . Oh, wait

Not sure what’s going off with that, if we sign another midfielder it’ll be Dylan Mcgeouch who Cloughie wants to sign but we are full squad wise in midfield.

People our end suggest it’s not true, so god knows. Might just be Big Bazza at Boro chatting shit like he likes too at times, unless Clough sees Broom as a ‘forward’ player that we are after.

He's good at what he does for the audience he's aiming for, social media types, teens, it's grating for anyone over 30.
When him & Robbie Stelling were commentating together,it was hilarious.
2 young uns, talking absolute bollox, just as we did at their age.

Crawley have announced the signing of three new players.

Moe Shubbar, Ben Wells and Jayden Davis have all joined the club.

Moe is the player who has scored 5 goals in two friendly appearances at East Grinstead! All I know about them is that Shubbar was at Cheshunt, Wells at Welling in Nat South and Davies was released by Milwall.

I suspect all 3 will start in the b squad but we are lacking some width and two are said to be midfield/ attackers so you never know.

Swindon fans, what’s Alex Gilbert like? He’s the next name we’ve been linked with and see he was on loan with you last season

Don't recall him doing much. Didnt score a goal and don't remember any assists. Very much a nothing loan spell.

Doesn't mean it will go that way at your place obviously but he really didn't leave any impression here.

Terminated his loan early which says something. I’m sure his debut was against Exeter at SJP and he looked very sharp. Never got beyond that, though.

Never really got much of a chance to shine, very much a bit part player. From what I recall was a neat and tidy forward but never stood out and eventually so far down the pecking order of our small squad the loan deal was terminated. Surprised his next loan deal is in league 1 as probably needs another shot in league 2.

Got this forward Jack Hamilton in on loan with an option to buy from Livingston for the season, target man type apparently. According to their fans on twitter he's a good Scots Championship striker but struggled in the SPL.

We seem determined to settle the age old debate about the level of Scotland's top leagues and our L2.

Thanks all. Not to arsed if he doesn’t sign then! But as Big Bird says, one poor stint doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be the same elsewhere. We’ll see.

Ben Whitfield set to join Barrow before the weekend.

Well liked at EP but a combination of injuries and us rarely playing with wingers means it’s not worked out for him here.

I think he'd be wide of a front three - can you see him doing well in that role?

Yeah if he can stay fit he should do okay. Missed a lot of time this year with us and same with Torquay the season before.

Bags of energy on and off the ball endeared him to the fans here. He’s older and wiser than in his last spell in this league with Vale where he flattered to deceive so you would hope he’d do better.

I liked Whitfield. Always scored stunners but his main problem with us was he was always blowing out his arse after an hour.

Apparently were getting Andy Smith back from Hull again on a season long loan, absolute quality for us last season.

It’d be a quality piece of business to get him back, not sure who loses out in place of him but with Maher injured it’ll likely be him initially

Haven't we been linked with Wickham a few times before? He's an odd player, moved clubs for serious money but never really done a huge amount since shooting onto the scene as a 16 year old at Ipswich. He seems to have lived off that for most of his career! Even at 29 he shouldn't be in league 2 and I'll be absolutely amazed if he does sign, his wage demands would be astronomical. I think a loan striker from a premier league/championship side is probably more realistic.

Been on trial at Reading the last few weeks so I reckon it's nothing more than vague twitter nonsense!

He’s struggled massively with injuries to be fair to him, it’s not to do with ability. We’ve had him on loan 3 times and in his second spell about 2013/14ish he was unbelievable. Genuinely one of the best I’ve seen at Champ level in that few month period. When he came back again in 2020 he looked slow and laboured. It hasn’t worked out since at MK Dons either so L2 may not be unrealistic.

Yeah I noticed his goalscoring spell at Wednesday. I know Reading are under embargo and can only sign free agents and have already signed Shane Long so if Wickham can prove his fitness you would imagine he'd get a contract there, although from what you are saying it sounds like L1 might be a stretch given his injury problems in the past.

Don't think this one from yesterday got posted? Having struggled to get him on the pitch for a decent run of games for his entire Grimsby career (45 appearances in 7 years), you just know he's gonna be ever present for Harrogate! If they can get him fit and playing they've got a player on their hands. Massive 'if' though.

Harrogate potential strugglers this year? Poor second half of last season and haven't made any standout signings as far as I've noticed.

If Whitfield can stay fit (which is a big if, had long periods out for us & for Torquay the season before) then he'll be another solid addition to Barrow. Wild is building a decent side and they'll do much better than the bookies are saying

Not really an unstable club though? Don't you need two basket-cases per season to help Stevenage stay up
