Vernam is 100% definitely signing for us this time for the third window running and that is a fact. Also Nick Haughton is being heavily rumoured again.

I hope he is, he's shown small glimpses in the time he's had on the pitch, but he's not a League 1 player. Need to get rid.

During the commentary in today's match our guy stated that Lindsey has identified the players he wants and who needs to go. Just waiting for Wagmi to give him the go ahead.

So we'll be scrambling at the end of the transfer window.

Yeah, I'm not of the opinion that he is gonna tear it up at this level but I think he's a solid signing and will improve us so I'm happy to get him in. That 100% post was definitely very much tongue in cheek too by the way, just in case that wasn't obvious!

Vernam is your classic ‘can’t make the step up’ but that doesn’t make him a bad player, in this league he’s very good.

Vernam has definitely the poorer of the two Bradford signings we made last summer - O'Connor got Player of the Season and has had an exceptional year bar the odd game poor game at the start of the season in a four.

SoC was being tongue in cheek but I fully expect him to be at Grimsby by early pre-season.

We were after Ash Hunter last summer and now he’s been released by Morecambe, I’d imagine we’ll try again. Exactly the sort of player we need.

Surprised to see rumours of Pennington and Monthe from other ends to us. CB is probably one position we have plenty of cover in.
Tozer, Hayden, Tunnicliffe, Cleworth, O'Connell, O'connor, Lennon, Butler
I'd imagine Lennon will be let go though

All sorts of Newport and Walsall players getting linked now Flynn has taken over. Hope he has a bit more imagination than that.

League One ready centre back, but all signs seem to suggest he's staying with us.
I suspect that you can pay much higher wages than we can so I am doubtful he’d come here, despite that we can offer him L1 football straight away. I’ll keep an eye on this one and if we did pull the signing off, it looks like he’d be excellent.

By the way, how has Tim Dieng done for you? Still miss him…

You suspect wrong. Gillingham aren't offering higher wages than the other L2 teams so they certainly aren't offering higher wages than L1 teams.

Masterton will remain at Priesfield because he buys into the journey and because the lure of that famous blue (sometimes blue and black striped) shirt isn't confined by such trivialities as the hierarchy of the EFL tiers.

Dieng has been pretty average in honesty, scored in one of his first games but drifts a bit too much, seems quite lethargic. Hopefully just settling and he'll be fine.

I can only applaud you for trying.

Bit surprising but yeah maybe a mid season move has impacted his form. I’m sure he’ll be one of your better players next season.

We will be in for Alfie May if he has actually said he's leaving Cheltenham, we've been after him for eternity.

Seems similar to Mullin so the big man little man will come to an end, Parkinson might now be progressing past the Triassic period and going to play some total football.

Other names rumoured are Danny Mayor and Max Power. Power in particular seems fanciful but I wouldn't rule anything out where we are concerned especially now we are back in the league.

We're also linked with May, we'll almost definitely offer him something but I imagine we'll be quite far down the list in terms of what we can offer financially. Not to say we'll offer peanuts, but not Hollywood money. Our pull for May is that he's a local lad, so hopefully that angle appeals to him.

Well top this then lads, we might be in for Pete Jameson, keeper who is leaving Harrogate. Askey rates him.

Bryn Morris has been let go today, so I reckon he's nailed on to rock up at yours.

His life is up in Yorkshire now, got a business up here. Darren Moore should never have got rid, still rankles and Alfie normally gets a thread on our boards.

Said as much in the other thread, good player, injured 50% of the season though.
