I know this belongs in the Sunday League forum but Cal Roberts has just signed for Scunthorpe, what in the name of Christ are they doing over there?

I mean he’ll take the piss in that league if he stays fit, but they’re throwing some insane money at it. Which you shouldn’t really need to at that level.

Not sure it’s fair to call the ES Surfacing Scunthorpe and district league division 1 ‘Sunday League’. I mean matches are played on Saturdays for starters. Roberts should look decent at that level tbf.

Aberdeen are being linked with a move for our GK Ross Doohan. Would be a great move for all parties, he’s struggled badly here, a move back up North might help get his career back on track.

We’ll need a replacement obviously, but they can’t be much worse.

Love Cal, unbelievable player but his career is just descending into nothing. Never fit, sulks when he plays anywhere other than as a right winger and can’t play in a team that presses otherwise you have to carry him. He’ll obviously take the piss at that level and probably score a goal a game but he’s 26 and he shouldn’t be playing at that level - rotten luck with injuries but there’s also clearly a bit more to it as well…

If we bring anyone in they need to be better than what we have- he sounds like he would be but I'm not sure if there is anything to the rumours, I think it's mostly people adding two plus two as he played for Parkinson at Sunderland before, and we are looking at a midfielder.

One poster on our forum reckons we've booked a goalkeeper in for a medical tomorrow. I doubt it, but I wonder if Pym's delay at Mansfield is related? There are certainly other keepers around but as I've mentioned before here our recruitment seems to be based around experienced players and leaders to fill the gaps and Pym is certainly experienced at this level and higher.

I hope so! As long as he doesn’t end up back here, that’s all what matters to me.

I'm looking forward to the Tranmere games. Not rivals as such but a good slice of needle between the teams- when you lot came down the matches between us were a highlight, much better than the games against those dopes in Chester.

As for Jennings he's a top bloke so best of luck to him. Will be a good influence in and around the club I'm sure- the Jennings boys are born competitors.

He is not going to be 1st choice, even he says that. What he has come through makes him a hero. Not this stupid game we all love.
