Nowhere near as stinking as your lot on your fans forum, what a deluded bunch to think you're after Dion Charles from Bolton.
Yeah Chipmunx getting a bit carried away on Red Passion there.

I'm told he is the one player at the club with a release clause so we might not have too much of a say.
If they've put in a £500k release clause in, then it raises huge concerns about those making the football decisions. They should have learned their lesson from the last crop they sold for far less than they should have done. Should be £750k minimum.

Agreed, although I think his is the last contract to contain one of these clauses.

And here’s us going to sign 35 year old Lee Gregory. Clearly not shopping at Waitrose like the rest of L2…

The worst kept secret in the world is now official. Armstrong off the Carlisle. Decent signing for them, although he's in no form at the moment.
He played very well for us last season, particularly after January and scored some cracking goals. Then the money and bright lights of Hollywood turned his head and when that fell through his true character emerged.

This season he has sulked and stropped and has hardly kicked a ball in anger. Happy for someone to take him off our hands. The whole episode has been doubly galling as we've had to pay his wages and his replacement, Josh Marsh has been a massive disappointment. No one here will be sad to see him go. He'll probably be fantastic at Carlisle.

Can’t believe Carlisle are paying 800k for him, absolute waste of money.

Aww just because your little L2/Conference club will never have any proper spending power like ours. :P1:

800k is nothing to us now.

Rather have someone championship quality coming down to help us gain back to back promotions and stay with us than have Armstrong. Sure he might be a good player, but doesn't inspire me with the goals returns.

Yes of course, because you're all obsessed about trying to get Clarke Harris who has a fantastic goal return this season of 4 in 16 and as for signing Championship players, mate who the hell would want to drop down from the Championship to play in L2??

Get real. :lol::lol:

Armstrong is the best signing you could have made but that ship has sailed now and consider it revenge for Hayden. :fing:

I feel as though they've done us a favour, but they'll no doubt think they've got one over us.

Sour grapes I bet

Turns out you're no longer the top financial powerhouse of the lower leagues..

Let's see what happens this window....

I think Armstrong will be a decent signing for Carlisle. Will need to be based on the rumoured fee.

Stockport County.
Armstrong is a poacher. I thought he'd have been good for Wrexham the amount of ball they get in the box. He's not necessarily a great all round striker like a Paul Mullin though, Carlisle will need to feed him.

He'll do fine at Carlisle, I'd just like us to go for someone who can grow with us. That lad at Bohs sounds more up our street, but we might need to fork out there.

Shots fired.

We signed Boyle from Huddersfield, championship player. Evans from Millwall, championship player, Elliot Lee, championship player from Luton.

So yeah, we don't have the pulling power, do we? And as for Hayden, payback? Man can't stay fit but thanks anyway ;)

I wouldn't go around bragging that we signed Will Boyle.

Yeah fair point. We, erm, signed a lad from 'Uddersfield. Can't remember his name but from a championship club*

*ex league 2 defender who happened to be part of 2 promotion campaigns to the championship.

If it’s anything close to what Wrexham was gunna pay it’s ridiculous amount for a good L2 striker.

I do understand any excitement coming from Carlisle fans, just because they are suddenly spending money and playing soccerball but the proof will be in the pudding.

Stockport fans. What are the odds you will recall Lewis or Lemonheigh-Evans from us?
Both players we rate very highly

They’ve already turned down a 200k bid by us according to reports. I highly doubt we’ll go back in for him now.

Anything more would be a huge gamble for someone from the League of Ireland as League 1 is a huge step up. Our owners might be wealthy but they aren’t stupid.

Don't get me wrong he could be a brilliant signing, but I agree he's probably too much of a gamble.
There are still plenty of quality football league proven forwards around.
