Yep, Club have stated larger than last season and I'm well aware having a large budget is no guarantee of promotion in fact I'd say it's more of a hindrance

We are in discussions with Tafazoli but its no different to any other situation at this point in the season, players are seeing whats avaliable. If he came here, it would be about the money - because we're in such a state behind the scenes with no long term goal.

We are also in discussions with ex Oxford defender Johnny Mullins.

I also expect Gabby Zakuani to sign for Doncaster this week - He said he was close to signing for a club this week - He has played under Darren Ferguson before and he wouldn't have to uproot his family. Nailed on if you ask me.

That's what scares me, we've had 3 seasons of getting managers ex players and had 2 relegations.

We've said it a million times, but we went down in 2015 paying Darius Henderson on £10k per week and Andrea Dossena £14k+ per week - it is shocking.

Last season our owner as mad and stupid as he is, has tried to completely slash the wage bill - By binning of the likes of those above and replacing them with the likes of Ollie Palmer and Frazer Shaw - I know who I'd rather have and it isn't the players on big wages. Small clubs have to live within their means.

Forrester was on over £10k a week but we had a fair few who were on Championship wages and the squad was far too big. You also have to factor in signing on fees and loans. As for authorising a higher budget it depends on how it's spent, Rowe isn't going to be cheap but if that's the indication of our signings then it's worth the investment. The signings made this summer are with a view to promotion to League 1 in other words they have to be good enough to play at least at that level. We wil see what happens I'm just hoping the football is worth watching because it's been shite for 3 years now.

JR would go above and beyond for certain players, ie Matt Green last season on a three year contract and big money. Budgets change. Nice windmilling though!

I feel like Ferguson is a shadow of the manager he was when he got Peterborough promoted twice all those years ago, and I fear for you lot he'll bring in a load of players who are also a bit over the hill. Nowt against Donny, but the whole 'spending to get out' is what Orient and Notts County tried to do.

From what I've seen I don't think he's a Championship player, would be surprised if he went there. I guess if us or Donny chucked a fuckton of money at him... I'd do the same thing as well probably. Bradford for 2k a week or Doncaster for 4k, no brainer really.

Yes it's a stupid amount of money but that's football. I'm not convinced that Fergie is the right man to spend it either but he's been tasked to build a team for more than one season so I doubt there will be loads of over the hill players joining which unfortunately we have done for a few seasons now. I would be very worried if we couldn't afford it but we have some very good revenue streams which means our mega rich board doesn't have to dig deep into their own pockets. Time will obviously tell especially with the signings which should all be just about done by the end of June by all accounts
