We've offloaded Ross Lafayette to £astleigh somehow. One off the wage bill at least, another 5 transfer listed players to go.

Eastleigh seem to be buying any old striker at the moment, so its fill your boots time for anyone looking to get rid.

No update really. All I was told is that we were interested in signing him. I trust the source so I do think it is/was true but there was never a guarantee that we'd sign him. We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose.
That's fair enough. I expect we are looking at a number of players for each position. Ball would be great but suspect he's a big earner so Hoskins is probably more likely.

At least it's an interesting summer for once!

Are you trying to insinuate that Garry Thompson and Gary Jones are/were high earners.

Is there something wrong with you? They were just old cloggers no-one wanted, same with Carroll to an extent. We didn't outbid clubs and offer enough to turn down 2 year deals from clubs in higher divisions.

I'd give up if I were you.

I have genuinely no idea, that's why I asked.

You're as bad as half the League 2 defenders getting wound up by Barry Corr in the first place!

THIS is the signing that Eastleigh Fan said we ought to be excited about?!
Also, it's not that hard to offload someone to Eastleigh.

Hendon is keen to sign Anthony Grant.

Also apparently offered new contracts to Josh Wright and David Mooney.

The catch with Mooney is we've offered a one year deal - But Colchester have offered 2 years. But we've offered him more money. Decisions.

Are cambridge f
No because he's already returned, got himself fit and played games at the end of last season (well, not completely fit but he looked close enough by the last couple of weeks).
Green played a number of reserve games and also broke the sprint record at birmingham, He's fit and got his pace. If he will be the player he was or not doesnt matter, he should be better than anything we had last season.

The selection of Alan Smith as a high earner tbf was a decent shout, massively wrong by all accounts, but a decent attempt.
As for Roy the Boy, we aren't paying him enough if last season is anything to go by.
International class goalkeeper in League Two? You're welcome.

Bristol Rovers and Wycombe have already offered contracts according to someone in the know. I suspect we wont be able to compete.

Fair enough. I know nothing about him apart from that he's tiny.
What sort of player is he?

A very good one. A bit of a terrier closing down opposition and shows good use of the ball in possession. His speciality is hitting the crossbar from 40 yards.

Oh right, convenient.

I must consult the official 'ACL Scale' in future. Bloody shame our manager hadn't too before he wasted probably our biggest wage of the season. Could have gambled it on a less serious ACL casualty instead.

We're so non-league in comparison to our glittering all-star neighbours and the giant shadow that they continually cast northwards. Dammit.

Are you trying to insinuate that all ACL injuries are of equal severity?

Fucking hell, I'm going back to the League 1 forum, pretend to be a Walsall fan or something.

You don't need a degree to know the top part! Although I wish you did, would make mine a bit more worthwhile

Well it appears there is at least one Stags fan I'll get on with this upcoming season. Wise beyond his years perhaps? Or maybe just recognises the contrasting histories of both clubs.

Happy days

I'm hesitant to rely on Luton Outlaws rumours, but someone has posted that we're trying to sign Scott Wagstaff from Bristol City. Experienced player and at a good age - better than a League 2 player definitely. Seems a bit of a random one to make up.

To be fair, we're lacking a tough tackling midfielder so I'd be happy if we got Clifford. Sounds like he's in demand though so we will have to see.

Are you trying to insinuate that you're not now actually a medical expert on the severity of sporting injuries?

Its just that you'd had me suckered that you pretty much knew everything, after reading your regular educated thesis on pretty much the job lot of shit standard football.

My error.

Still no rumours regarding players we are interested in unfortunately. The Chris Lines move is an ongoing situation as he has made it clear he'd like to stay and we obviously want to sign him, but it's in Port Vale's hands really as he is under contract there.

As they know we want him, they are holding out for a fee. However, we know they want rid so we are holding out for them letting him go on a free. It'll be a case of whoever blinks first.

No other rumours though, which is pretty boring.

Well, call me massively naive and all that but I reckon someone who was back playing in half the time another player was, probably (I'm making a wild assumption here, so forgive me) had a less severe injury. Now, that is more an educated guess than anything.

We got rid of our last international class player, Kieran Murtagh the one that got away...all the way to Woking to make sure he is included in the Antigua and Barbuda squad.
