Hard for me to personally judge as I've not seen L2 standard football for a while, except for when Wycombe came in the Cup (not going to go into that match again, opening old wounds just mentioning it). I hope we can be stable in that little group in between mid table and relegation candidates, although of course the higher the better. I just don't know what to expect, so I may as well let my pessimism take hold and allow myself to be surprised!

I'd expect no less from you :)

Tom Hitchcock and Grant Holt both linked.

Could you imagine a strike partnership of Darius Henderson and Grant Holt? Jeeze.
Can't help but think if Holt wanted to drop down to League 2 he'd do it with us. You'd offer him more obviously but he's always said he dreams of finishing career with us, and he regularly does our match commentary as well since he's been injured. Who he'd choose depends how much money he's amassed over the past few years because most of his career has been spent in the lower leagues not earning much, but he's been on 20k a week for a while now so he should be comfortably rich.

We had Tommy Hitchcock on loan a few seasons ago and once he'd settled in he showed he was a good little striker. He had a natural instinct in front of goal.

I wouldn't be against him coming back here should DC want him.

I'd be very surprised if Grant Holt signed for Orient.

So would I. Tom Hitchcock on loan from MK Dons is very plausible though.

Holt would be better finishing at Carlisle, we already have Darius Henderson FFS.

Someone is signing the carthorse Brett Williams from Aldershot. possibly Stevenage.

We've apparently offered him a deal as well according to one of our "in the know" people on our forum.

He'd only be backup though.

Aaron Wildig has joined Morecambe after being released by Town.

An excellent signing for them. There won't be many, if any, better passers of the ball in League 2 next season.

I'd had about enough of Potts to be honest so good riddance.

Brad Potts has left us to sign for Blackpool.
He started the season well, but as soon as there was interest in him, his performance levels dropped and he appeared to lack effort and fight.

We've got several decent midfielders already, so he shouldn't be too much of a loss.

Hope he does well in the future, although I doubt he'll see too much success at Blackpool.

I wonder how much compo we got for him?

Compensation is still being agreed at the moment. It better not fucking be undisclosed.

Potts is no real loss to us, he would've been a big earner had he signed and I don't even know that he would've been in our team (Dempsey as the attacking player and Joyce/Kennedy alongside him?)

Of chairman refused to deal with Oyston at Blackpool earlier this year. The story is he didn't feel confident he would get the installments. No idea how true it is but our player Keanu Marsh Brown had a fit over it when he found out the offer had been refused despite us putting him on the transfer list. I'm sure you'll get your compo and our chairman was just being cautious

I'd hate to think what would happen to Blackpool if their chairman started not paying transfer fees. It'll be £200k+ so it's pretty substantial for them, maybe Oyston is turning a corner and trying to get them promoted again. Not that buying our fringe players is the way to do that.

From a genuine ITK type:

"Three players signed this week subject to medicals. Won't be announced yet but we can all be very excited.
Sorry to tease. Not intentional. Just can't say what I've heard.
We mean serious business this season for sure. The club is selling itself bloody well.
(On Harriman): QPR fannying around too much. Fear not."

Craig Mackail-Smith perhaps?

He's just hinted that one of the three is a capped international, which would fit CMS (it would also fit Simon Church who was rumoured a few days ago, but the guy who started that turned out to be a complete bullshit merchant so I'm guessing he made the whole thing up).

He also makes it sound like we might be close to pulling out of the Harriman deal as QPR are taking the piss - "how long can you wait?... I feel for the player, they are messing with his career."

Hopefully we get something sorted, it would be a shame not to sign him as he clearly wants to be here.

I think Potts (and Blackpool) will do ok in league 1 next season. They are a shambles off the pitch, but they have a quality manager/coach.

yeah I think we would had some selection headaches had he stayed. All 3 you mention, plus Potts would all have to play, so how would we fit em all in?

If we play 5-3-2, Joyce would be the defensive midfielder presumably, with Kennedy and Dempsey getting forward.

Hopefully the Potts money will give us room to get a few more decent players in, a couple of attacking players preferably.

Yeah as long as we don't sell Dempsey we'll be fine without Potts.

Nope just checked their forum it is Northampton. Something up but it's obviously slanderous or libellous as they wont repeat it on the forum.

Can't see it myself. No signs with regards to not signing players etc. Also surely you'd want to take the hit at the end of last season if things had gone wrong.

What makes you think that? Sounds optimistic for a tribunal fee, especially if he was a "fringe player"...
Well our local reporter says it's more than £150k, so £200k or there abouts seems the most likely figure.
