Towell has had 2 loan spells with us and we tried to sign him full time last January.
He couldn't agree terms and finished down the pecking order behind Vaulks, Semi, Crooks an young Ben Wiles, usually coming on as a late sub. He was great for us the year we came up, but not good enough for the Championship
He was rumoured to be on £13000 plus at Brighton and they played the lions share in our loan agreement.
So Salford are pushing the boat out definitely.
TBH I'm not too bothered he's not coming back but I am grateful for his first spell with us.
He is a grafter and fairly skillful but he's not quick and that's why he wasn't good enough as a Championship player.

Good signing for you. Amoo is excellent for 60 mins of the game. Excellent impact sub too and has a great delivery. Pope should get a bag fall from his crosses. Two cons to his game - defensively leaves the full back exposed and injury prone.

On loan at Hamilton and then Flyde last season where his loan was cut short because of a badly broken arm. To be honest, I know nowt about him.

With the Nadesan signing (surprised, I thought it was a negotiation ploy) and four other forwards on our books I would expect Palmer and/or Poleon to be off.

Palmer still being linked to Southend but that's based on rumours from January. Poleon is still being linked with the Dog and Duck second eleven.

A lot of players will have gone on holiday, and I expect things will get a touch busier next week. Most players who sign up early are tempted by big money relatively, and bargains will be had the closer we get to August. Who can say if there will be much quality left by then though?

Mansfield fans, our official Twitter account tweeted randomly today about Bobby Olejnik, that said 4 years ago today we signed him and then tweeted a clip of one of his saves vs Liverpool.

This has caused some speculation that he’s about to re-sign for us. Heard anything your end? What’s his injury situation as I heard he suffered a bad one...? Good ‘keeper and we do need an experienced type to replace Pym so would be ok if he did come back.
