We’ve signed 20-year-old midfielder James Morton on a season-long loan from Bristol City. The midfielder, who can sit in a holding role or slightly higher up the pitch, joins from Ashton Gate after spending last season on loan at Bath City.

This fits with the pattern of signing youngsters with potential, which is good because we have a reputation moving players onwards and upwards, hence encouraging others of the same ilk through the door.

However we still need to balance this out with a few older heads before the transfer window closes. As yet I’m still undecided if this will happen. Doidge on the way out over the border, means we may still get a class act or two. As it stands right now were short of mark. Still time.

So as well as getting Morton on loan from Bristol City, we've also just announced goalkeeper Adam Smith has signed on a 2 year deal.

Doidge is expected to complete his move to Hibs in the next 24 hrs, according to Sky.

ITK fan of ours who tipped us to sign Donaldson, Vaughan and Hornby weeks before we actually did, believes we’re signing Danny Mayor next week.

Would be some coup!

Bradford operating on a different level to most of the division. Nailed on title favourites.

We’re announcing a signing at 5pm.

I’m hearing it’s a striker....

Apparently he’s too injury prone for us.

It’s Alex Fisher who was at Yeovil. I’ll file that in the underwhelming bracket.

Looked alright when I saw him tbf, although he was playing in a very poor side.

Notts County spent £500,000 in fees alone by this time last summer and they got relegated.

Is that all he was worth?

No, but with 1 year left on his deal we weren't going to get near what Bolton offered, and apparently he wanted to go. Better to get something for him then keep a wantaway player. Bit of a blow, but what can you do.

Walsall sign Elijah Adebayo. We had him on loan last season and he was pretty disappointing.

He's quick, technically good, can win headers and run in behind. He's got all the tools," said Clarke.

Seems Clarke has been taking lessons from the Boris Johnson school of talking bullshit.

It’s a absolute miracle Alex Fisher has found another club at this level that isn’t Morecambe.

I'm surprised at that. Surely you can do better than Fisher?
Me too.

I get the feeling he will be a squad player but just feels like a pointless signing. Still, I need to give him a chance and sometimes underwhelming signings come good. He did have some decent games for Yeovil to be fair.

Taylor quoted as saying he wants another striker and they’ll be more of a ‘Fox in the box’ type so expect Jermaine Defoe or someone similar.

Could be a bit lively in our dressing room next season if this clip of our latest signing is anything to go by. :bg:

Fisher was shite for us but he's bulked up alot since we had him. Bit
Now we're talking, that's a real Champ Man/Football Manager signing there!

Looks to have scored some goals in the top flight in Sweden, interesting signing for sure!

Proper Ricardo Moinz Notts County era signing.

Oh completely. No point in writing off a new signing at all. Some players just click at clubs so maybe Fisher will be a hit.

Apparently Lawson D'Ath, a midfielder is training with us. Released by Franchise and ex-Luton and Northampton, winning promotion with the cobblers a few years back.

Cobblers fans, what kind of player is Mr D'Ath?

Alex Fisher comes across as a Robbie Simpson clone but with a man bun.

Did Reid and Campbell also both want to leave? Seems weird that got rid of both them if not.

Fisher was alright for us, a trier, but looked like an average conference striker at the time. He may have kicked on since then but imagine he'll be Bowman's understudy anyway and seems to have a knack of scoring every now and then.

Reid yes, Campbell not sure. Both good players who will get goals at this level, whilst we're left with a young fairly inexperienced frontline, oldest of the 5 being 23 and none of who have ever managed double figures in senior football..

Lost a lot of experience this summer, with Lee Colins, Gavin Gunning, Scott Laird, Reid and Doidge, all big influences in the dressing room, all moving on, as well as losing loanee Lewis Ward, the best keeper we've had in ages, as well as our player of the year Reece Brown.

Only experienced outfield player we've signed is Matt Mills, who was playing in India, as player coach. The rest are all youngsters.
