Most of the stuff about Carolyn is just poorly veiled sexism IMO. She receives so much criticism that the fair points (i.e. perhaps they're gloating a bit) are obscured by all the responses where people are calling her a slag.

Which I totally disagree with Stringy. (the sexism, not your comment! :) )

Calderwood and Strang's search for signings continues. Tyrone Barnett, Francois Zoko, Kyle McFarlane, Simon Dawkins, Rakish Bingham, Max Clayton, Craig Mackail-Smith and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas are the latest players that we've apparently been looking at.

God help us if that's true. I guess Emmanuel-Thomas might not be a bad signing.

Very true stuff, would a man doing the same thing get the stick, no.

They do things a bit extravagantly - and they’ve both learned from mistakes in the past - them claiming we’d smash the conference then conceding 4 in 3 of the first 5 games in the conference had other fans in hysterics at the time (we actually did go on to win the league on the final game of the season) - they wouldn’t do stuff like that now.

As others have said, given the dodgy owners many clubs seem to have these days they’re a complete godsend - especially after the dark days of haslam.

What sort of player is Cooney. Not seen/heard much about him
Right Wingback, could play right back and sometimes Centreback.
Good young prospect and was understudy to Nicky Adams last season.
Wish the lad nothing but the best.

The thing I really don’t like about Carolyn Radford is that you can tell she thinks she’s really fit, when in reality she is a fucking mess.
Oh she does, she refers to herself as beautiful on her interview on The Football Ramble without a hint of irony.

Meanwhile on Lincoln Vital this poster is not at all bothered in the slightest...

"My feelings completely. Absolutely jaw-droppingly hilarious and ridiculous. This is Mansfield Town for goodness sake... a deprived Nottinghamshire backwater/dump in the 4th division... yet they think lording it up with a Roller and Ms Fake Boobs doing her best soft porn actress impersonation is hitting the mark with their fans?! Unbelievable really... I really do hope they mess up their promotion bid yet again next season.

The Imps on the other hand announce a tie up with a local school to help academy players get the best education possible while trying to plot a career in football. I’m so pleased the Radfords are at a safe distance from Lincolnshire. Up the Imps!"

I listened to that interview. She actually didn't come across too badly on the whole in that interview.

However the cringe bit was when Luke asked how 'hands on' she is in the day to day running of the club. She pretty much said that she doesn't watch training as she wouldn't want to distract the players with her attractiveness.

Yeah, agree with that. She did indeed come across quite well. She does quite often in the media, to be fair.

We are announcing a signing at 5pm today. Either Nicky Ajose or a third goal keeper. Im not bothered about either possibility to be honest. Ajose might come good but unless he's taking some big wage cuts I wont be impressed.

Rotherham’s Matty Palmer set to sign soon according to an ITK fan. No reason not to believe him, he’s got the last 4 signings correct.

Would be another great addition.

Re the Radford, I don’t really care how they come across, they support their club very well. Any club in the lower 2 leagues would love to have them.

Same with any rich owner though, they could do one at any time and leave them in the shit. I'd rather have an owner that is willing to try and be sustainable.

Interesting to know who our trialists are. One is Diarra a Spanish midfielder. Also have a towering centre half and a south American apparantly.

Yeah now I know the Lincoln forum has its 1 millionth Mansfield related thread I’m pretty happy about it too.

It’s very much Carolyn doing it all too, so saying they like it’s both of them is unfair, John just lets her get on with it.
You have a 20 odd page thread on Stagsnet about Lincoln, as you do with Notts and Chesterfield...

Northampton signed Vadaine Oliver, apologies if already posted, can't be arsed reading all the pages.

Incredible how some players forge a career for themselves. Has always looked utter turd for whoever he has played for. Guessing he'll be back up.

I agree. I would be interested to know how many clubs in the division are run as profitable businesses. I kind of just assumed that most of us, even the ones that appeared to be sustainable at least had an underwriter (in FM terms, I'm not what those guys who put their hands in their pocket are otherwise called).

Yep, Curle pretty much said that in the press release. Also signed Charlie Goode who we had on loan last year. Most fans seem happy, but seems like an average signing to me. However if we get a good experienced left footer next to him (and turnbull), I'm thinking Knight-Percival etc I think we'll be well set.

The real problem is that until things at a club start unravelling nobody knows how a club is being run. We only ever publish the minimum shortened accounts so there’s no real information there.

Some owners deliberately start out to fleece their clubs from the outset, some are just plain incompetent. It’s when owner’s primary business gets into trouble that the football clubs run into trouble big time.

You don't want Knight-Percival if you want to achieve anything this year.

We all want that - unfortunately its pretty difficult to be sustainable and achieve good results at the same time in the lower divisions. Only a handful of owners have achieved that (Accy for example).

Luke you well know how obsessed a lot of Lincoln fans are, go on pretty much any social media post regarding Mansfield and it’s full of noncey Lincoln fans trying to have some shit banter,

The obsession is real, we all know it and it’s fucking weird. Don’t try and defend that element of your fan base because I wouldn’t go to that much effort for the same lot who support Mansfield.

We've sold Charlie Goode to Northampton. Incredibly surprised we actually got money for him. It will be nothing but can't believe we got something. He was a lost cause here due to all his struggles but think he might do well then with a strong start.

If Radford was going to stop funding, the budget would need winding down but other than that he would leave us in a much better position.

I get ya point though, if he said right now he’s done and not willing to fund the contracts that were signed under his watch we would be in trouble, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.
