We will be in the market for a decent right back and now we can even offer a fee....25k a full kit and the promise of a pre season friendly has got us our man in the past.

Surprised you've loaned out Ward, probably the best keeper we've had in League 2 when he was here on loan from Reading. Thought he'd be a top signing for you.
Never really worked out for him. He’s had two long layoffs which has meant he’s not been in the best form, sadly.

Can see him doing well at Pompey if he gets the chance.

Absolutely. He won't be in league two next season, that's for sure. I just hope it's with us in league one.

5 assists too.

Wozza is different gravy. Can see why we were so bad without him! Only KDB had more in the top four divisions in 2020

Nicky Law has gone. Off to play Soccerball at Indy Eleven, whatever that is.
Now we can add a midfielder to our shopping list
So gutted Nicky Law has gone. Huge loss for us and a real shock but I doubt he could turn down the move.

Taylor has to pull something out of the hat by 11pm on Monday.

We've signed Centre Back Adam Thompson from Rotherham on a contract until the end of next season.

Think he'll be a good signing for us but he hasn't played all season so far.
Not seen him in a while obviously but on his appearances for us he will be more than competent for this league

He will be a difficult act to follow. The Nicky Law of two seasons ago was immense, so much so that he was officially renamed to 'Nicky Man of the Match Law'.
Things haven't quite been the same since, not sure whether its injury, age or being usurped in the same position with Matt Jay, but he will still be a loss.
I think we may have to make do at this late stage, accept mid table and go again in the Summer.

You have signed a good steady player in Thompson.

He never let us down when called upon in league 1 and was usually played out of position at RB.

He hasn't had a chance this season because we've had about 5 CBs in front of him and we signed Harding for RB then Ollasunde returned from injury.

Warne has nothing but praise for him, never given a moment's trouble and has been only to willing to give his time to the Covid community projects the Club runs.

I hope he does well for you, he deserves this chance to progress his career at a decent club.

Is that the chap that was at Bury as well?

He must have a good agent to get him to a championship club as he was dreadful when he came in on loan at VP!

Who is expecting movement from their clubs in or out tomorrow?

We are expecting two CB’s to be announced, one rumoured is Luke Prosser. The other likely to be back so maybe a loan.

I don’t expect any other players to leave.

Hopefully Robinson and McKirdy can get new clubs on loan or permanently tomorrow. In addition to that would imagine Leon Legge may go elsewhere (Oldham have seen mentioned though not sure how true it is) and Cullen also. The latter didn’t even make the bench yesterday and as far as am aware wasn’t injured and no other striker was named.

Incoming possibly a centre back especially after Brisley being injured has left us with just Crookes and Smith.

We're expecting a loan and a permanent, although going by Duff's interview after the game yesterday, the permanent may not be a goer.

I have a feeling we'll bring in a striker and ship out a few on loan to National League sides.

Ours is a bit messy as we are expecting the manager to be announced tomorrow.

He may have different plans in terms of Theo Robinson, Legge and McKirdy.

If we don’t get a striker in tomorrow I’d re register Theo as we only have Guthrie and Dave (Devante) at the moment. Devante is absolutely class but if he gets injured we have nothing up front.

Cullen looks on his way and Pope is out for 2-3 months.

A young striker would do on loan maybe.

Need and expect a central defender to sign hopefully to ease of problems at the back along with the return of the two full backs from injury.

Biggest piece of the lot though is not selling Conlon, the way he is playing it will be hard if someone from a higher level comes in to keep him, we’ve given him the captaincy so hopefully that helps!

Expecting as many as 6 to be shipped out....Two loan players returning to there parent club.
Hopefully Comley and Mascoll out permenantly.
Expect Scunthorpe to but a nominal bid in and get Taft
Darcy may go out either on loan or somewhere just to get games
Riley and Findley locket may well go for 250k each to Norwich and Wolves respectably
I expect the forward Evatt said would turn heads if we capture him to have found a club and we will go with what we have got......but it was close to being pulled off.....yes right

We need at least 2 players tomorrow. A striker and a wide player being the priority.

Interesting that Theo Robinson is available, I’d be happy with him till the end of the season.

If we fail to bring in anyone then we will most likely fall short this season. That said, once Stubbs, Randall and Williams are back fit we will hopefully get some form back as those 3 will be shoe ins for the starting XI.

Sell on clause news:

A few years ago we had this striker, Sam Cosgrove who we signed in the summer following his release from Wigan. Was just one of those young players you take a punt on that you get every season, he did enough in a trial to warrant a six-month contract and made three late appearances off the bench in the league during August as well as being brought on in extra-time in the EFL cup. I think HG said (correctly) that he'd looked out of his depth when he came on and was then dropped from the squad completely before returning to the bench but only making another late appearance.

Come January he'd played a grand total of 46 minutes in the league (thanks to transfermarkt for their super-detailed histories) and probably only touched the ball on a handful of occasions, and it would clear we wouldn't be renewing his contract. Then, I'm not sure what the reasons were but he was named in the starting line-up for a game at Mansfield with Richie Bennett and Hallam Hope both on the bench. We were mid-table at the time and I think probably struggling for goals, hence turning to someone new up front. We lost 3-1 (the goal coming from a Devitt penalty) but he impressed enough to be offered a contract until the end of the season. Keith Curle said of him,

'I thought he did very well and he was unlucky not to score. As we said when we signed him, he’s a player we feel could have a future in the game. He knows this is another opportunity to impress, and it’s up to him to force his way into the reckoning on a regular basis.'

Next game, at home to Crewe he scored in a 1-0 win and IIRC got man of the match. He made his third start the following week, but was then dropped back to the bench. Then, on transfer deadline day we announced his move to Aberdeen for a nominal fee reported to be £20,000. The club explained that we had approached him about extending his stay further only to find he had signed a pre-contract agreement with Aberdeen as Dons manager Derek McInnes was familar with him and wanted to sign him. McInnes was keen enough to get him up there that he approached us with an alternative to losing him for nothing in the summer. The transfer fee wasn't much but there was a sell-on clause attached and that convinced us that the best thing to do was accept the offer, after all he had only made three starts and scored one goal in his time with us.

Aberdeen's eagerness to get him up there doesn't look that smart a move in retrospect as he struggled in that first half-season with them. He improved dramatically the following season, but Aberdeen would have had him anyway, and without having to pay money or offer a sell-on clause. He quickly became one of the top strikers in Scotland and even Bayern Munich were reportedly interested at one point.

Anyhoo, that's a lot of rambling but it's just a really unusual situation given his short time with us. The sell on clause has been reported as 20% or potentially as high as 40% of whatever profit Aberdeen make on the sale. Well Birmingham City have just forked out two million for him. So we could be getting a cheque for somewhere in the region of £400,000 to £800,000.

That'll do nicely... thank you Keith Curle for spotting some potential in this lad, even if it did little good for us on the pitch, and thank you Derek McInnes for being so keen to sign him that you were willing to sign over a significant chunk of your future earnings just to have him for an extra six months.

Why would a great LB be playing for a laughing stock like Bolton?
Got one whose played 20 plus premier Games....30 odd Scottish premier games for Rangers. 7 full welsh caps and is only 25.
Stand out in lge 2 i think

Looking at Declan John's career though, you do have to wonder if he isn't showing the potential he had when he was playing in the Premier League, considering he's been gradually moving down the divisions and is now being loaned into League Two.

We had him on loan (I think) the season before he played for you, and he was dreadful. Saw some of our ex-players on Twitter when he was being linked with Lazio saying that he "must've had his boots tied together when he played for us". He'll be in League 2 in a couple of years.

Unlucky yesterday to be fair. Forced the save for the third goal and had another well saved where it still went under the keeper but caught him enough to be able to recover.

In fairness Rodney has been our shock performer so far... 10 goals now (most from being played wide) and looking an excellent investment and getting better all the time but like the last fortnight before yesterday when he is out with no Pope as well we are short on support for Guthrie.
