No I had a lot to say about how you thinking we brought in him in to have him and Mayo together at centre back was ridiculous.
Yep and you put the call into Walsall to prevent that ever being proven because you were too scared!

Does he live in the North East? Or is that article saying Bradford is in the North East?

Could see this being a saga that's gonna roll on all summer personally.

Cook lives in the North East, yeah. Travels down with Gilliead...which is probably why we offered Gilliead a new deal :bg:

Wouldn't surprise me if it dragged on.

How could I say someone isn’t decent that I’ve never watched or heard of before? My argument was purely that we did not bring him to the club to play with Menayese at CB because he’s not very good actually, I was correct obviously :D
I’ll be honest Rollin is clearly better CB than Hewitt who has literally nothing in his inventory to be a L2 CB but he’s not the solution despite not being terrifyingly weak like Hewitt.

The big fuck up is letting O’Keefe go to Rochdale.

Mayo still has a year left here he might get another chance Flynn never liked him. They left a bloke to get splinters in his arse for half a season who had scored 15 goals by January so Clough isnt the best judge of a player.

If he fancies an easy kick about for a season or two in the National League I know a club up his way that'd have him :2thumb:

Hewitt is a top notch right back, not a centre back. His performance at Walsall last season potentially was of the worst I’ve ever seen in that position, he got bullied by a kid hence that remark, so that’s not gone quite to plan for you but I genuinely love the effort nevertheless.

1 or 2 Thats pushing it, Need a few more than that i think.
Yeah I think we could do with one upgrade in each position in the spine if we’re to have a proper crack at top spot. Confident with what we’ve got would see us up there as we have a lot of quality proven League Two players already but under no illusions that we’ll “piss it”.

Infact I think some Wrexham fans are in for a shock, we won’t be used to losing (lost 6 league games since January 2022) and barely dropped any points to bottom half teams last season. This will change, wouldn’t be suprised if we had a massive slap in the face early on next season.

Regardless of the semantics, the fact remains that when you signed Hewitt we told you he was decent and you said he wasn't and here we are with him winning your POTY in a season when you'd have won the league at a canter if you hadn't have been decimated with injuries, so essentially we called your best player in what would have been a title winning season if the footballing gods hadn't have decided to punish you for all that Radford stuff.

Elliot Hewitt only ever looked good for us when he was paired up in midfield with a young Ryan Yates. The fact that he‘s won the Slag’s POTY is probably one of the reasons why they only finished 8th.

Baily Cargill is a name being said potentially going to Stags FGR fans?

Seriously the lad was so good this year down the right, if anything his bombing down the wing and putting in crosses was more impressive than his defensive work.

Always quite liked Hewitt although he did have some absolute howlers in him from time to time. Always thought he looked happier in the middle of defence or as a break it up midfielder than a right back .

Never played in midfield here, he started his career here at CB and it was a disaster. Do not mind him in a back three on the right, definitely improved massively and it’s such a shame he’s done his ACL after the best season of his career.

Looks like our defence is sorted on to midfield and strikers now
You’ve got a great player in Sterry.
He only missed two months of this season & overall his injury record isn’t that bad, people just make a big deal out of it because of his so called mental state.
I’m sure he’ll be a success & fan favourite.

Peterborough have released (made available for transfer) Dan Butler! excellent left back and one of Flynn's best signings for us, so he will be Swindon bound then.

Donny sign Jamie Sterry, really good attacking RWB.

Seen someone describe him as a tampon, in for a week, out for a month :fl:
Strange that another Lge two club would buy him
Given he was out half of the season.
Strange when Askey took over he suddenly figured in the first team again.
Strange he rang in sick last game of the season.

Donny you are welcome to him, Good player if he can be arsed.

Andy Cook has signed a new deal. Good start to this summer's business.

Turned down quite a few clubs too in league 1 and 2 apparently.

3 year contract and his love of playing for us sealing the deal

I have a sneaky suspicion he may go a bit mad with his kebabs this summer after picking up what I imagine is a massive but deserved contract.

He looked a bit on the chubby side in the latter stages of this season. However, he looks to have lost some excess weight already, judging by his interview today.

Surprised it’s a 3 year deal, but he’s always fit to play - low risk for the club and he’ll probably finish his career here.

50 goals - 115 app - 11 assists

His record speaks for itself.

In other news, it sounds as though we’ll be signing Romoney Critchlow permanently.

Plenty of noise this end on us signing Cole Stockton, too.

Where have you seen that regarding Critchlow?

Not keen on Stockton. We need pace and he's not pacy, is he?

Wouldn't touch Stockton with a barge pole after what he did to us previously.

Cook signing is massive for Bradford, great bit of business for them that. Absolutely no guarantees that his goals would get replaced if you didn't splash out on that 3 year deal and he'll cause problems in L1 too if you go up. I think Stockton would be a top signing for anyone else at this level but you don't need him and Cook. Put that kind of money elsewhere in your squad and you're looking good. I've seen talk of Stockton to PNE or Blackpool so I don't reckon we'll be seeing him in L2 unless Wrexham or Gillingham are in for him.
