Marquis is a perfect storm of a player who a) has played for us before, b) has a Millwall link, which a lot of our signings/rumours tend to be with Harris and Jackett at the club, and c) happens to be a forward which we are in need of.

Not to say it won't happen, but he's bang on the money in terms of a rumour.

Not sure if your rumours are coming from our rumours, but we’re linked with everyone and our fan base love to mention ex-players returning despite very few of them ever happing or working out
Yes it does seem to originate from your forum, we haven't heard anything at this end. A loan wouldnt make sense for us really, or any fee as he has looked sharp in pre season and Barton was playing him more at the end of last season.

We've signed a forward - Ashley Nadesan from our feeder club Crawley Town.

With the strikers we've been linked to this is a very underwhelming, hopefully he'll bang them in but looking at his stats it don't look promising

I think we were interested in him last year and couldn't persuade him to sign, so York must be really chucking money at it. They've bought a very solid spine - David Stockdale, Callum Howe, Tyler Cordner, Quevin Castro and Dipo Akinyemi

Woodyard was far from great for us though. Not terrible, though some fans scapegoated him, but captain over two awful seasons and was always going to be part of the clearout this summer. He should be effective in the national league but hardly set League Two alight.

Nadersan joins Gills. Said to have cost them the dust from their pocket (only the left one mind).

I honestly like Nadersan. I know his scoring record is 1 in 4 . However, because he is so quick any team pressing up on you is supceptible to a ball over the top. They only have one or two scares and the defenders say 'sod the boss' and drop off. This allows you to play through the thirds.

I did think he would be great on the wing but every time we played him there he seemed lost.

He wasn't in Lindsey's plans. He seems to want Orsi up top with 2 tens behind. It really doesn't suit Nadersan.

If you start with Nichols and Nadersan up top you'll struggle to reach the autos In my honest opinion.

Naserdan has often impressed me when I've seen him. One of those that doesn't have a great record but still does damage. Wouldn't have minded him here.

I doubt they will be starting together that often to be honest.
We also have Hawkins as a main striker and Lapslie who likes to play just behind.
Also pretty certain e will be looking to bring another forward in.
Gives us decent options though.

Bakayoko loaned out to Dundee for the season. He didn't impress for us, but to be fair to him the utter shit show that was our second half of last season didn't really give anyone the chance to do that. Would rather have sold him on, mind

Decent enough back up but it wouldn’t be a miss really even a league lower because he rarely got a look into the first team without injuries. Considering he was almost shipped out a while ago if we can get some money for him I’ll be delighted.

Ta.

He played in 41 games last season though and mainly starts?

Hopefully he will be solid and give us another option. Caldwell had him on loan at Chesterfield way back. Hope he proves a useful squad player.

Dan Harvie, Dean Lewington and Warren O’Hora all had injuries at various times and one of the worse periods from memory (December to March) was when we were reliant on Jules as one of the centre backs.

We’ve managed to offload Bakayoko to Dundee on a season loan. Good riddance, absolutely shite and couldn’t be arsed to even try.

Awful footballer. How we got money for him from Coventry is beyond me, daylight robbery.

We’re still after a natural RWB. We were apparently in for Liam Bennett from Cambridge but they wanted £500k + add ons. We were willing to spend, but I’m glad we haven’t been held to ransom over a right back.

We’re also in for an experienced utility-type player to cover both defence and midfield. No names have been mentioned.

We've sent striker Tomi Adeloye on a season long loan to Partick Thistle. He's barely played since signing and 3 managers don't appear to rate him.

I'm led to believe we're the only club in the EFL yet to make a permanent signing. Busy time ahead for Flynn I hope.

Happy with that, him and Bolton were the standouts against us when we played Salford and really exposed our weaknesses last season.

Out wide. Really surprised he hasn’t risen above L2 level since leaving us.
He was wanted by some league one clubs, but according to our local journo Aston Villa were happy with our dream factory, training ground and general set up after we had Raiky here (despite him not even playing).

Stockport County.
A loan signing, hopefully we can encourage his development. Nothing to do with finances, it's the infastructure and blueprint we've been building and working towards for a couple of years.

The Dream factory has a new annex. And it's called the laboratory. It's where the science happens. White coats and science goggles are needed but nobody knows what quite goes on there.

We don't actually play with wingers and have just signed a winger. The science goes over my tiny little brain.

Just the 33 man squad now. David "Chally" Challinor needs a good start, that's all we know.

He did spend the first half of last season in League One, scoring once in 32 games.
