It will be nice having a little feeder club. :smug:

From signing our poor cast offs in the past few years to now targeting our best players, Carlisle have a strange obsession with signing players from us. It's creepy like you were stalking us

180k for Lewis, good bit of money that. I hope he carries on doing well for Wimbledon.

Evans recalled, it's not completely out of the question he could go back to Wimbledon on a permanent at the end of the window if we bring a couple of intended targets in.
To get that kinda money for our 5th choice CB is insane.

We've released box to box midfielder Regan Griffiths.

52 appearances. 0 goals. 0 assists. No stand out performances in his entire career here.

Comfortably the worst Academy graduate to appear over 50 times for the club and it's not even close. He's played for 2 clubs this season so I wouldn't be surprised if Artell gave him a 1 year deal at Grimsby in Summer. Given Artell's love of Scouse players, he was the only manager I know to ever rate him and gave him contract after contract.

A career grafting at Aldi in Skelmersdale awaits I reckon.

That's surely their club record signing too? If so, thats even more bonkers!
It's probably a record but not bonkers (if that's how much it is, but hearing similar from our end). I appreciate he hasn't really fit in at Stockport but he's really important for us and a good statement of intent that we're trying to compete when we thought we might get dismantled in the transfer window (still time, mind). Still young for a centre half and while this is probably a bit over the top I think it's good long-term business for us on a number of levels. Of course, he'll be toilet from now on.

To be quite honest Stockport fans can say what they like about him. He's a good player and has been a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 every week. We probably play a style of football that complements his game.

Some players fit some clubs and not others, I’m sure we can all think of players that we thought were meh for us but look like world beaters at other clubs.

From the outside it sounds a good deal for everyone. Stockport get more than they thought they would for a player they don't need (or apparently rate). Wimbledon get a player they want and who perfomances have been very good for them.

Nothing else to see here...

I can totally accept that playing for you guys he’s more suited to as you play a back four, defend deeper and have less possession and it’s the same set-up he excelled in for Torquay.

For 150k plus though I’d want the best defender in the league and I know he’s nowhere near that.

The defending for two of these three goals for example is horrendous:

Well we've conceded 28 in the league this season. Stockport have conceded 26 . Not a lot of difference there. That tells it's own story.

Hearing Carlisle paid £900k for Armstrong

Yep, we absolutely blew poor Wrexham out of the water for him and they still haven't found an alternative with time running out.

Lewis was rated but not enough to turn down over 150k. Simple really.

I sincerely hope he isn't back up, that would mean he's less reliable than the pair we've got. I'd start him against Grimsby and be honest with Stone and tell him he's not been playing to top end L2 standard and needs to win his place back.
I’ve no idea why we’d sign another back up keeper, that’s what Slocombe or Stone should be.

It’s a good point when people say that a keeper who’s both good with his feet and can save stuff wouldn’t be playing at our level but I wouldn’t mind someone who can do either of those things really well.

I love us scoring great goals after a 10 man move but it must be dispiriting for all concerned when we then let in a looper out of nothing.

Can safely say Pym good with his feet and at making saves, no reason why County cannot find one. Recruitment department not doing good enough in that position.

We're a fan owned club with a £30m stadium to pay for in the form of bond repayments. We can't afford to splash the cash so John Green's contribution is appreciated.

Joe Lewis might be Stockport's 5th choice CB but he's our 1st choice along with Ryan Johnson. Maybe players fit better in one club than another.

Now, about Connor Lemonheigh-Evans. Recalled to be sold or to gain splinters from the bench? If the latter, we'll happily take him when his contract expires in the summer.

It all stems from being too sentimental and keeping Slocombe in the summer. He’s presumably still on reasonable wages and a senior ‘keeper, so it led us to not go all in for a new number one, but someone to ‘compete’ with him for the role.

What we’ve been left with are two bang average, at best, goalkeepers for the level who haven’t got any confidence because they know their place is constantly at risk. I actually thought dropping Stone in the first place was a rare disaster from Williams, he wasn’t amazing early season but was basically doing fine, distribution was decent and he hadn’t made many major cock ups, only really Colchester. Slocombe then came in and looked far shakier than he did at any point last season, and since Stone came back he’s been pretty much dreadful, confidence is completely on the floor. How throwing another, apparently completely erratic, goalkeeper into this is going to help I’m not sure.

Well there's the thing. Our defending wasn't great but Lewis scored two goals. A half decent defender who scores as well. I'll take that.

We could only sell him (in the EFL) to you as you can’t play for more than two clubs in the same season.

Might be something that happens if we bring in another midfielder.

The facts are that our centre back pairing this season are two ex Stockport player's. We have conceded just two more goals than Stockport so that tells me that they are on a par with other Stockport centre Half's. Simple facts
