After recent lower league transfers I personally think both clubs should expect at least £1m for their respective strikers to be honest.

Bogle is younger but I believe only has 18 months on his contract left? Whereas Akinde (who has a bit more league experience as well) has 2 1/2 years left.

No idea what this £250k bid is about really. Nice to dream about having both of them up top though :brill:

Bogle is 23 years old, Akinde is 27.

Today's temperature is 1c, yesterday it was 5c. Thought I'd join in with the whole quoting numbers that have no relevance gig.

Akinde is on a longer contract at a club less likely to sell (as in if we lose him, we're fucked) and has been a more proven goal scorer over the last few seasons (that will be a controversial opinion but he has been scoring at levels higher than Bogle recently).

Akinde is worth more than Bogle.

Is he fuck.

Akinde is older and he has not done anything until now. If he went higher he would fail miserably becuase everytime I see him he on the highlights show he is missing terrible sitters and just being a complete donkey. That doesn't work above L2!!!

I have no idea who you are watching, but it ain't Akinde.:dk:

It so is. I remember when we beat you 3-2 up here last season and he could of squared it to someone who would of scored but no he decided to be greedy and waste a brilliant chance.

That's put me in my place. I've only been watching him for 2 and a half years, but I'll defer to your one incident in a match 14 months ago.:brill:

If he's so great and worth so much then why would he want to stay at Barnet? What can your club be proud about? What is appealing?

I'd probably say Akinde is worth a little bit more than Bogle as he's in his prime. Both players are worth at least £1million, if we're comparing it to some of last seasons transfers.

I'd argue someone would have to pay more up front for Akinde but the total package for Bogle would be more valuable as Grimsby would be looking for more in the way of sell on / appearance fees due to their ages

:bdick:

Terrible effort. Akinde has done more the past 3/4 seasons than Bogle has, at higher levels. That post is pure unadulterated shite. But then most of your trolling attempts are Carver.

I agree with Carver to an extent. Whilst Akinde is a handfull Bogle has a lot more to his game and offers a lot more potential. If my club was after a striker then I'd hope Bogle would be considered. Akinde not so much. Actually, not at all.

That's fine by us, the more clubs feel the same way the better.

What you mean is you don't want an ex Bristol City player at Rovers.

I didn't realise just how good Akinde was until we played Barnet the other week, the guy was unstoppable apart from by fouling him.
Also, I heard a rumour that he's quite decent from the penalty spot as well.

Already had him once. He was terrible. But I realise he's improved massively before Barnet fans shout at me:bg1:

From what I've seen of Akinde I think he would struggle at a higher level and given his age it would appear those teams above think so too. Desperate clubs will pay silly money for strikers who are finding the net regularly but neither player is worth £1m as they are unproven above this level.

Akinde and Bogle would be excellent at most League 1 clubs.
I disagree. They might get into a few of the teams but in ahead of Gregory, Taylor, Madden, Clarke ? Etc... Not sure about that. I'm not so sure about Bogle but Akinde has been at his best as the "main man" with the team directing the majority of their attacks through him. He could do well in league 1 but I think it would have to be a similar set up.
Personally I think it might be best for Akinde to stay at Barnet. If they can survive this season rising revenues from the Hive should see them able to compete at the top of the division and perhaps promotion.

For most fans comments on Akinde its based on glimpses on TV or seeing him once or twice in a season.

Having watched him over the last 2 and half seasons he's overall team work, cool head and ability to be clinical I would love to see him get a chance in the championship or league 1.

Bogle looks decent on TV no idea what he's overall game is like.

I never thought Jason Puncheon or Yannick Bolasie would play premier league although they were exceptional.

Truth is the players value are what a club are willing to pay. If they are worth it is another matter

Bogle and Akinde have each got 16 and 15 respectively already. Nearly two thirds of what Taylor got last season. I'm pretty sure Taylor was being touted for the Championship afterwards? If both players are at a similar standard, why would League 1 be an issue for them? Sure, they won't continue with their current scoring rate but they wouldn't struggle.

Also, from what I've seen, Akinde isn't really the focal point but he seems to just pressure players into mistakes; with his strength and pace, he's a real asset (I might be wrong so correct me if you wish, Barnet fans). He's 27 so I'd question whether he's prepared to wait another 2 seasons to make the step up? I wouldn't, personally.

You're absolutely right. It's another misconception that because of his build he must be a target man. He can do a job but he's much better going towards goal, running onto things, pressuring defenders, rather than playing with his back to goal. If he played off a big centre forward that was good in the air, that would be a lethal combination.

He's nothing like the player that first joined us and has developed so much in his time with us, although credit too to Alfreton as they got his career moving in the right direction.

But I hope the limited, can't play higher comments are being echoed in scouting briefings, as I'm very happy to keep him .

none of them are as good as our promising youngster Jon Stead so I expect Premier League interest in him.

Be surprised if Bogle goes anywhere in Jan unless stupid money is bid now Bignot is here

Hurst tried to get Bogle a couple seasons ago but Bignot convinced him to stay wih Solihull to help his development, be highly surprised if he doesn't do the same again and keep his feet on the ground till at least the summer.

Like I say unless stupid money is offered that Fenty can't refuse and ignores Bignot.

We've signed 2 full backs.

Kevin Wright, ex Chelsea.
And Alex McQueen who was with us last season but turned down a new deal in the summer.

Don't know a lot about Wright but I do like McQueen.

If either Bogle or Akinde get sold for 7 figures then football really has gone mad.

They're both worth that though.
