Tbf we used to have a Grimsby fan film our matches and most of his posts on our forum were hard to comprehend. Even Google translate didn't help.

If it was 2016 yes there might be an argument to be had. I was always a harsh critic of Norwood at FGR, thought he was a bit wishy washy, went missing, etc. However, there's no denying the leaps and bounds he's come on over the past three or so seasons. Should be plying his trade at a promotion contending L1 side.
He seemed to change when he went central, I think he was left wing at FGR?

Tranmere seemed to get the best out of him by continually knocking it over the top and using his pace.

And to this very day, tales are still told about the time one of the Nailsworth villagers returned with the magical electronic box that could record images and the man from the big town was no longer needed so they lashed him and burnt him until he was no more.

Going by our constant match commentary/iFollow issues we could probably do with a man from the big town coming back and showing us how to work this sorcery.

I don't think you're alone in that!

Pretty obvious no? You (hellogregory - an irrational poster who gets things wrong all the time) criticised us (Grimsby fans - sensible and rational) for saying a player could possibly be the best in the division in his position because we don't know enough about the rest of the players, yet you have never seen said player play. I just find that interesting.

That doesn’t even make sense. I’ve never even gave an opinion on the player’s ability, so how can you find the fact I’ve never seen him play “interesting”? You say I said he’s categorically not the best, but you’ve completely made that up.

And the post I saw didn’t say “possibly the best in the division” it said along the lines of “comfortably the best left back in the division”. I found that interesting.

I don’t know if he’s the best or the worst, but you don’t know he is the best either.

As for this Hellogregory gets stuff wrong and is irrational while Grimsby fans are sensible and rational, I think your mind has been compromised.

The Bantams
Jake Reeves, Bantams?

Signed for £150k from Wimbledon. He had a very good 16/17 season with the Wombles. He started his City career well but fell victim to a bad injury, we didn’t look after him properly which meant he spent 20 months out, primarily suffering with mental illness.

He made his comeback last season, showing glimpses of what he can do; but the truth is, he never really settled here.

Defensive midfielder with a decent engine. Keep him fit, and he’s a very, very good signing - especially for that league.

Decent player. Was out for 20 months or so with a groin injury and subsequent mental health problems after being cast aside by 3 or 4 managers in that time. Seems to be over it now and played the second half of last season constantly without any further problems.

Not the biggest, strongest or quickest but he's a good technical player with a good brain. Good passer of the ball and likes to start moves off from deep so it really depends on your style of play.

Really hope it works out for him.

Everyone seems to be ex Bradford. Fair play to Bradford fans for providing views and opinions for 90% of all signings made throughout the leagues this summer.

I would guess you have always been envious of our strikers. John Aldridge versus John McGinlay ?

I can't see Norwood going to Bradford. He is on 8k a week at Ipswich, and if he does move, a loan to Fleetwood or Dundee United seems more likely.

And, yes, he was a fantastic player for us.

Nicky Maynard to vale is what I've heard a few people say but even though he lives locally I doubt we can afford him unless he takes a 50 % pay cut.

Jake Reeves, Bantams?

Just to confirm fellow Bantams on here really.

We signed him after he had enjoyed a good spell with the Wombles. He was very good in his first half season with us, a very tidy player who always seemed to have time on the ball, able to find his man with ease, and rarely misplaced a pass. Unfortunately, he suffered that terrible injury and subsequent 'alleged' mental welfare issue and was out of the side for almost 2 years, before making a return beginning of this year. Again he looked tidy enough as he settled back into the side, but understandably, seemed to have lost his confidence.

I think he will do very well for you, and should be a stand out player at your level.

Now then, can we have Callum Roberts please?

Been rumoured he is the mystery man. Would be just what we need and probably that goal scorer to take us into a very strong position.

Salary cap and pandemic may help us get it over the line? Assume we’d still offer a good wage considering we can only sign one other over 21 aside from the striker and that is likely to be Visser

Seemed disinterested a Sutton and Hartlepool just means he's yet to play for a proper football club :fish:

Ah hah nice try, I know you lot are banking on him as the second coming of Rakish Bingham.. but proper clubs don’t sign national league rejects

We have this morning signed Gime Toure from Hartlepool on a 1 year deal.

I know he was a target back in January. Any views pools fans?

We had him on trial a few seaons back, he was rubbish. He's apparently improved since then, but im surprised he's turned up in league 2.

Omari Patrick is better...but again id have thought National League was his level.

hellogregory: *Categorically states he isn't best in division*
hellogregory: I haven't given an opinion on his ability

All I am saying is that I've seen him play several times and I can tell he is way way way too good for this division. If you choose to reject this information then so be it. However, if he signs for someone in this division on loan and is incredible then make sure you lawyer up because you'll be up against the Grimsby fans in L2 forum crown court charged with being absolutely wrong in the first degree. Not a good situation for you to be in with previous similar charges.

You can only pay him £1350pw - unless you want to use up 2 or 3 players’ wages/squad numbers on him.

Strange he didn’t accept what would have been a higher offer from Mansfield to re-sign than being left at the mercy of the cap.

Hope you get him. Feel better about my bet then!

People keep saying stuff on this top bit, people keeping asking for clarification but I've yet to read anything concrete. There aren't constraints on what you can give individual players are there? Surely your £1.5m budget is yours to do what you want? Or are you just working this £1350 out on an average based on a certain squad size or something?

Matty Blair looking likely to join after rejecting a contract at Donny and also set to sign Elliot Bonds on loan from Hull. Squad almost complete, just a back up Keeper required. Looking very strong methinks.
