Depends, if Carlisle beat Liverpool then they would have a chance of TV at home to Bournemouth.

No chance they would put that on come on think about it. $$$$$$$$$

Missed out on Norwich at home. Not bad. Was hoping that we wouldn't regret putting out the reserves.

It'd be nice if this competition was actually won by a team that truly values it, to be fair.

Comfortable victory for Carlo Ancelotti's men.

Which would you argue would be a better choice, and why? I expect it to be ridiculously clear cut for the Liverpool match to be a "wank choice".

To be honest they are all pretty shit. Stoke v chelsea would be my pick or man utd v boro just for the fact boro will take about 7/8k and make it an interesting atmosphere. Liverpool v bournemouth will be dreadful the ground will be full but silent with about 500 away fans. I fully expected it though its a business and lpool bring in more viewers .

Ok. I think you overestimate the weight of the atmosphere at a stadium when a game is picked for the telly.

The last sentence is the only thing that matters. Take my word for it.

I fully agree money controls it all. Its just my opinion what id rather watch on tv but i do realise its a business.

Would be nice to have Hull in the quarters. Otherwise, this draw sucks.

Do the broadcasters get more for putting premiership teams on?
I'm not sure this is a serious question, but in case you or anyone else wonders no one pays the broadcaster to broadcast a match, the broadcaster pays for the right to do so. Sports rights are rapidly becoming more and more attractive, as well. The astronomical sums paid in 2015 were beyond imagination in 2005, and the sums that will be paid in 2025 are probably beyond our imagination right now. More often than not, rights are sold through blind auctions and you don't know the true meaning of "throwing money at it" until you look into sports rights. It's not often public, but the rights for the Olympics are in most countries so you can have a look there. Then remember that people are starving and blow your head off.

This is earned back tenfold through commercials, however. The more people watching, the more money you can earn through it. This is usually down to quite accurate predictions, but these predictions are of course based on the broadcaster choosing Liverpool or Manchester United over Carlisle or Bournemouth. If they were to pick a game like Carlisle-Bournemouth when United-Liverpool is on, they would literally be taken to court. And they would lose the case, as well, because it would be a clear breach of terms.

The astronomical sums, however, are nowhere near their roof. There's no telling when it'll stop, and guessing would be nothing more than just that; guesswork.

First time in years that ther are so fewChampionship sides still in it

~ other agendas ?

Mad Mick still being stupid tho'~~jeesh :err:

:eye:

Was fined years ago for putting out a "Reserve/Academy" team in the FA Cup.
His choice last round was a blatant snub and a vanity call, which saw the Tractors
~ and their fans

~ humiliated on the altar of mad mick's ego.

Villa away in a Cup~~~~ :brill:

Got to be the first time in recent history ~ since the Boer War at least, that's recent to the Villa

I want us to go for it. Our first team could do really well in the League cup.

And the more you win matches, the more winning becomes a habit.

But I know we'll put out a "B" side. We always do for this.

I just want us to win EVERYTHING! :bg:

I watched most of the first half and genuinely didn't realise Giroud was on the pitch.

Arsenal were indeed useless and Giroud did the square root of fuck all. Weds took the few chances they created really well.

Man utd and man city both at home tonight with over 100,000 people there yet south yorkshire police cant handle two 1st round league cup games when us and wednesday are at home. How can one police force handle that yet the other be so inept.

Well, only 60,000 will be at Old Trafford and about 1,000 at the Ethiad. Not as bad as it seems.
