How come you are so shit in the league and yet so consistently good in cups?

Genuine question.

we set up to counter which works better when teams attack us...like they do in the cups as opposed to league games. Well that's my theory anyway.

Question for you blades. Would you rather:

A. Win both cups this season but stay in league 1 for another 20 years.
Or
B. Go out of both at the next opportunity but win the playoffs this year and never return to league 1?

B, easily. We need to be out of this league asap.

Get a grip what for to aim at what the odd promotion now and then the pinnacle of a club our size is winning a cup id swap anything for that

Woah, ask the majority of fans and they'll say the league us more important. Get out of here and we can kick on again and who knows, maybe win a cup? Staying in this league would kill the club, especially for that amount of time and I ain't ready to pack it in just because we won a couple of cups and I'd far rather go to watch a team in the leagues above not one that fails to get out of this league for 24 consecutive years and probably gets relegated to L2 in the mean time.

Hypothetically speaking, winning a domestic cup double would mean you go down in history. Has to be that choice.

to be fair I'd rather have a chance of some 'relative' long-term success. Sure we'd go down in history and could dine out on it for a few seasons but then what? A top-end championship club (until recent history) is turned into a L1 mid-table side (presumably) still playing dire football against players and teams that it should be playing better than. Would you like to still be watching Bristol City in league one in 20 years time, in a 33K capacity stadium with only 8-9K fans turning up probably meaning you'd have to move grounds/sell up just to stay afloat? Being in L1 for the next 20years would kill the club, permanently, I wouldn't want that for anything. And history would mean nothing then.

Blocked off the line - Vorm looks indecisive and shaky.

Exploit it United!!

Can't see past Spurs now, United struggle for goals at the best of times and they'll get battered on the counter if they chase it.

we gave it a good go, proud of the lads last night. Was always going to be a tough ask but thought we had them for a minute at 2-1 till Walker injured Harris.

walker cost over twice as much as our entire match day squad last night and I doubt he was anywhere near the most expensive players out there.

We were outplayed all night then out of absolutely nowhere possibly the finest 3 minute spell ive ever witnessed. Gutted to lose how we did but at least we didnt just go out without a fight i thought the atmosphere was pretty shit too no where near what i was expecting but oh well another cup semi final defeat thats 6 now in the last 20 years roll on the fa cup replay now

aye, the atmosphere was very disappointing. Even bbefore Spurs scored we were quiet, just didn't seem to be up for it.

Tuned in to hear the cauldron of noise as I was led to believe by Blademan89. A little underwhelming to say the least!

Nevertheless, the players were a credit to League One, some good teams in this league.
