Agree, the last time we were in the Championship we averaged 25K and 26K for 3 years running.

This season our average is over 21K and that's with hardly any away fans, hardly any derbies or attractive opposition.

Logic suggests we'll average around 25K next season.
Even I'm getting a season ticket and I haven't had one since 2007.

You've allocated us 700 for the last game of the season - is there a chance that can be increased? Obviously we aren't a Sheff United / Bolton, but we've sold 350 already despite them only going on sale today, and I'm quite certain we'll sell all 700 - especially if the final day actually has something riding on it for us.

From a personal point of view, the decision to play this final round of games at noon on a Sunday is an absolute joke. Got my stag do on the Saturday night and there's pretty much no chance of getting a train in the morning that can get me there, so I've either got to get a coach at 4am or look to get a flight to Heathrow.

The EFL are set of twats.

Wimbledon won't give you too many extra, the max they've ever given us is around the 800 mark.

Just have your stag in London, then go straight to the game! Problem solved!

You averaged well post PL but they dropped as you got worse, as you've admitted by not having an ST yourself. I suspect you'll be 22.5-23K

There'll be 1k plus extra away fans on average on top of our 21.7k likely average for this season.
So 22.7k min plus extra home fans will see 24k min average for us next season.
The demand for season tickets from returners and new ones will likely see 25k reached

I'm aware of that, however my stag wasn't possible on another day, and travel down on the day is almost possible unless it's a dry coach!

Maybe but I think you over estimate the away numbers, barring the better trips like Fulham the division average is around 1550 you're getting circa 800 at yours this term.

Time will tell but I'll be surprised if you get 25K average, especially looking at the potential new clubs in this league. And I think ours will drop marginally too

That was the relegation season.
Try the 3 seasons consecutive seasons before, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

The reason you don't do it is cos people turn up anyway I must admit I'm very surprised how good you're crowds are considering the prices. We will also have 25k plus next year but we charge a lot lot less. It's absolutely brilliant what Huddersfield and Bradford do and it makes a difference, I've seen many people comment on the atmosphere at Huddersfield and Bradford is also the best in our division after millwall. A lot of clubs should try it imo Preston, barnsley , bolton , Ipswich they all could be looking at full grounds every week near enough

We've made the Chesterfield match this saturday a £5 ticket per person and have sold 22, 500 in the home ends at the moment, but you know it will be a one off but still nearly 10,000 more than the average (ish)

It's always good to hear clubs try an initiative to increase attendances.

Attending matches is often about habit and ritual.
Do something to encourage new or lapsed visitors, play well in front of a great atmosphere and there's a good chance a significant number will return. Makes sense.

Slim to no chance I'm afraid. The ground only holds 4,800 and home areas are pretty much sold out every week. As noted above, the last game of the season is always a sellout

Would perhaps have been double that had we even been battling relegation rather than embracing it.
