Mullin and Hoolahan named in the shortlist for player of the season. Surprised Kieran Lee isn’t on the shortlist.

I would take Kyle Knowle and Mullin from your squad.......the rest including Hoolihan would not get into our first team squad next season

In top form Matt would get in the current Bolton team imo.

Thoroughly deserved nomination, although I think Mullin will win it, which is fair enough. Hoolahan is the best player in the league but hasn’t really played enough games to win it.

Is Matt better than Doyle, not quite sure....Mullin needs to do it next season. You cannot fault him for this season and may well deserve it. Hoolihan is past his best and can only play once at the most per week.
Not a good advert for lge 2 that someone who plays every now and again has been shortlisted

Only one I’d question is not including Mendes-Gomes from Morecambe. Think he’s a little unlucky to miss out to be honest. Mullin will win it, these kind of awards always favour the strikers and with the number he’s got then it’s pretty nailed on.

Probably following NXT after her below Stewart Tomlinson AKA Hugo Knox the WWE wrestler (if hes still in it!) or hiring him out as his male escort persona Rupert Paddington Gomez!
I think he had to give up the wrestling. Stuart Tomlinson played in goal for us when we beat Stevenage in the 2010 FA Trophy final.

Mendez-Gomes is quality and will be playing in the championship next season

So we are a 3 man team, not 2 then.

We signed him from you guys then I assume as sure he came to us in 2010.

Problem with him was he worked out so much his chest was rock solid so balls just bounced off him!

from the footage from our final celebrations i think he spent all of training in the gym on the weights.
most keepers it's fairly easy for forwards or centre halves to rough up a but at corners - but he was build like the hulk

Maybe Matt now (or, well, pre-injury) doesn't have quite the flair and range of skills that Doyle has, on a good day. But I think he is more consistent and reliable.

Well deserved from Wozza. When he’s in form we are in form.

Don’t get how Matt was nominated but doesn’t get in ahead of Jay! (Not saying I disagree with Jay but doesn’t make sense how it works!)

Well done to Mullin, thoroughly deserved after all those goals this season.

Bit surprised Matt didn't make it into team of the year given he was on the 3 man shortlist alongside the two Cambridge players. Bit unlucky imo.

I dont see how Sarcevic gets in that team. Played well but he has had a couple of spells out injured
Then again i dont see how Santos is excluded

Chuffed JR has been recognised! He’s to us what Clough, Shankley or Ferguson is to their clubs. 16 mostly glorious years, from struggling like we are now to a side challenging for a place in the Premier League, beating Spurs, Everton, Derby and Southampton in giant killings a penalty shoot out from changing history and denying Arsenal their double and multiple Wembley trips.

Not to mention being the kings of Stoke on Trent.

Club I fell in love with and the likes of Steve Guppy, John McCarthy, Ian Bogie, Tony Naylor, Martin Foyle, Robbie Earle, Ian Taylor and the list goes on... what I’d do just to live a season of those days again.

Good for Worrall, am sure there would have been other equally worthy contenders but his importance to us cannot be overstated. As it happens at the moment with the move to playing him at wingback recently his main strengths such as his crossing have been taken away a little.

Well done to Mullin though, don’t think it was ever in doubt really.

Scouted by me years ago in the summer of 2017:
I think you’re getting a bit confused, I’ve listened to it again and again but I can’t find that line anywhere in the Bryan Adams song.

Community Club of the year as expected and deservedly Port Vale F.C and the foundation.

Incredible effort, over 300,000 meals handed out, up to a month or so around 1 in 3 meals provided by the EFL 72 was from Port Vale which is staggering and a fantastic effort from Carol and the team in the foundation.

Chuffed for Tunnicliffe. Five years ago he was playing for Sutton Coldfield. Gradually worked his way up and is now a rock in our defence.

Sadly for us I expect him to be cherry picked in the summer. Cest la guerre.

Who is it who votes for these for the final awards, the original short-lists drawn up by unidentified experts according to the link. No strong views on what they've come up with, a mix of obvious favourites and a few from leftfield.

Not suprised Worrall made it in, think he has the most assists in the league and always looks good on highlights and when I've watched him play this season.

Suprised Sarcevic made it as I thought he'd been injured alot and Tunnicliffe - Maybe Crawley fans have been keeping quiet about him all season..............

Think Guy has slightly more assists but Wozza has missed about 10/12 games with injury.

Oddly I expect him to miss out of Vales player for the year to Tom Conlon but no co incidence our worst spell of form was when Woz was injured.

I can't speak for Tunnicliffe, but I can for Will Boyle. He's been the best defender I've seen this season. Not only has he been a rock this season, he's also scored goals. We're noticeably more dangerous from Ben Tozer's throws when Boyle is playing.

Chuffed for Chris Hussey as well, even though I'd say he's not been as good this season as the previous two. He's still crucial to how we play.

As for Michael Duff getting manager of the year, I think that speaks for itself really.
