The 2014/15 League Two Raconteur

On a more serious note, we're all here to share in the experience of following a shit football team, and there have been some forum members who have regaled us with many wonderful stories of their experiences, like Rafiki from the lion king if he supported a league two football team.

1. BigDaveCUFC
2. THE TERRACEMAN

It's age before beauty for this award (even though Dave is only a couple of years older than me, he has the mind of a sixty year old). BigDave, a man who was once a 50 games a season fan and for the league's remotest club has been literally everywhere and spent more hours on the away coach than most players. Dave has surely only used a fraction of the stories he could tell on this forum and we all look forward to hearing more of them next year. Terraceman comes in close behind, and ahead of the usual grouping of one-voters. He's followed Burton right the way up through the leagues and reading some of his tales on the Tinpot thread (in the non-league forum admittedly but he's still one from this forum), fans like him deserve every bit of success their teams are currently enjoying.

Touched people would like to meet me for a pint. Anyone fancy a few beers in Mansfield next season I'd be more than happy to join folk in getting pissed!

Quite a few awards have been won by people I've voted for also :2thumb:

Murphy and Shoddy, lets go for a pint. Its Murphy's round!

Yea I always get the impression that Dave is in his sixties or older due to his knowledge expressed from recent decades. The Terraceman's tales in the Non League section are also very interesting. Well done both.

Well done BigDaveCUFC, thanks for those words too shoddy, I have recently met 3 old lads who were at the meeting when the club was founded and voted on the clubs name being Burton Albion, they were all at Cambridge yesterday so I'm still a baby compared to them !

Knowledge is power, and some forum members might be able to run the world on the knowledge they possess. Always there to put the idiots right and generally educate the rest of us on what's what, and to be fair this board would be a horrible place if all of us knew fuck all.

1. Murphy
2. Leewilson
3. Richard Cranium
=. BigDaveCUFC

A strong field for this one, and I'm happy with how voting went, with 4 very good posters on the podium. There must be something in the water down Dagenham way because they have conquered all before them in the knowledge stakes, but kudos to Richard Cranium on proving that you can be a Mansfield fan and still will the complementary awards (and another case of a well named winner), and to BigDave who can pepper his stories with a solid knowledge of the lower leagues. Lee has shown an impressive amount of knowledge but has been pipped to the post by his comrade Murphy, and you'd expect nothing less from a man who runs both a fan website and his club's programme. Most knowledgable AND poster people would like to meet for a pint... I'm thinking real ale

Murphy pipping Wilson to the post is a shock. Lee normally wins these things easily.

Well done Murphy. Shame I know fuck all about football and let the side down of a whitewash.

Absolutely chuffed with that, thanks to anyone who voted. Knocking Wilson off of his perch after all this years motivated me, and I hope I can retain it into next season ;)

Genuinely though, cheers chaps!

If it makes you feel better, I voted for you Lee even if it was because I was resigned to you winning it anyway. Proves I know fuck all.

Thanks C&B. Have I ever told you you're incredibly knowledgeable. Great taste.

On a serious note, Nick contributes a lot to this forum and one of the big common interests we have is useless football facts and stats. Still, he learned from the master, even if he won't admit it. :cool1:

A few people I'm surprised didn't get so many votes. Cambridge fans in particular since they came 2nd overall in top fans, and also the Wombles and Trannies who did well in the top club award. But hopefully we can get a lot more voters next season.

Id say that whoever won awards, who is thought to be a dick or who is thought to be amazing (or both) we are fortunate that we all support lower league clubs and this board is full of decent people who follow their local club.

There are die hards on here and those that have followed their crap football club everywhere. On that basis I doff my cap to the lot of you

Picked up two astute awards tonight so thank you!

I have won more awards in one night than Dale have in their entire history

Cheers lads, I'd like to think I'd be missed, but...

Cheers for running it as well Shoddy! Didn't get enough votes to put one on last year so for you to manage to get enough people to join in as an achievement in itself.
