I really feel bad for Leeds. Hopefully they get a geuinie owner sometime soon.

Whenever us and Leeds play, it's always a great atmosphere. I don't know why: it just is.

It's hard to have any sympathy with Leeds, hard to believe I know. From their ludicrous spending under Ridsdale to their shenanigans in the sixties and seventies which included, but not restricted to, placing ads in the local Sheffield press telling fans to come to watch Top flight football at Elland Road as both Sheffield clubs were in meltdown.

Oh and let's not forget the snidey admin under Bates.

From the bottom of my heart fuck you....

Yeah but we always fucking lose!! When last in the Championship together for 3/4 years I don't think we took a single point off them!

Not sure about sympathy but it is strange how Leeds can't seem to attract decent owners. Does make you think there's something rotten deep down because on the face of it they'd seem ideal candidates. Despite how irritating the self-entitlement bollocks can be they could easily be an established Prem club without any real effort, just by getting a bit of security behind the scenes

Luckily for you, I can't think of many Leeds fans who'd give much of a toss about the opinion of a biased Wednesday fan.

Ciderhead - the main reason we can't attract a decent owner is because we don't own the ground, have massive overheads, a long list of debts, pending legal battles and generally hemorrhage money from every orifice. It's not sympathy the fans are after, it's just a reasonable period of stability and to get on with the football, and under Cellino many can't see that happening. The fan base/income stream is more or less there for a potential owner but the list of negatives seems to outweigh the positives at the minute WRT outgoings.

EDIT: After his interview in the Mirror yesterday, I expect Cellino/the club to issue a statement this week saying that the option to extend Redfearn's contract hasn't been taken and they want to thank Neil for his work at the club yadda yadda yadda.....

With regards to ground ownership, more and more clubs are finding themselves in a position where they no longer own theirs, and it always seems to lead to problems. Looking at Coventry for example, their decline seems to stem from the moment they moved to the council owned Ricoh, they had the fiasco of playing in Northampton after rent disputes and now Wasps have come in and bought a large share and they're playing second fiddle in their own stadium.

I'm not particularly clued up on the business side of things, and I'm sure there's some advantages to it or it wouldn't be the case so often, but it doesn't seem a healthy state of affairs

Most clubs who do not own their stadium don't even benefit from the main advantage of leasing something generally - in that you normally aren't responsible for maintenance/repairs. All clubs that I've heard of who lease, are also entirely responsible for maintenance costs (we certainly are). It's really not a good idea and once you've sold, it's incredibly hard to get that ground back without moving somewhere else.

Grayson to Leeds if we don't go up.

Wouldn't be particularly bothered if we got someone in like Rosler who knows the division and plays decent football.

Would mean we're pretty much back to square one with most of our squad at the end of their current contracts though and we wouldn't be able to sign Beckford either. Probably more cons to him going than pros when you look at some of the gash managers we've appointed previously.

Can't see Grayson coming back personally, although he fits the mould. He didn't create too many waves and rock the boat under Bates. If he came in, he'd be in similar circumstances - a gobshite chairman who's going to make the decisions.

It's not like you're the only club to suffer shit times though mate, we've not had it easy but we don't bleat like you lot seem to fella.

20 years since we last competed regularly and 15 years since top flight football, shit owners who sued fans, two stints in the 3rd tier etc

I'm not gonna moan about fans moaning. I don't think Leeds fans have any more apathy than most other 'big' clubs (Forest, both Sheffield teams, Wolves etc). Living in Sheffield I hear far more bleating about Wedneday's lack of money and impotence up front and 'negative' Nigel at the Blades than most other clubs combined. It's all subjective - put TalkSport on and all you hear is misery from most of their callers.

Not sure how it works at Elland Road but I suspect it's similar to you - the club are responsible for upkeep/maintenance etc. Reports suggest that the rent increases by 3% each year so it's well within the club's interest to re-purchase the ground ASAP.

Seems like we've got the only Italian owners with some sense and football knowledge - mind you even they got rid of one manager after 8 days!

Makes you wonder who would want to work with such an owner...

I'm fairly sure we've won every game against both Bristol clubs since relegation from the prem. If not it's very close.

Edit: just checked...not quite.

4 wins, 2 draws vs rovers and 6 wins from 6 against city. Sorry lads!

Revealing Rosler today in a press conference at 3. Redfearn still not contacted. Disgraceful really.

Once it was clear Redfearn would not be staying, I guess Rosler is one of the better options but can't help but take it with a bitter taste in the mouth with the way the whole thing has been handled.

I'm fairly content with Rosler, I like his teams. High pressing, plenty of energy, which tend to play a decent brand of football.

You do however have to question how much control he will be given of the team to be able to implement all of the above.

That said the way Redfearn has been treated is nothing short of a disgrace. I hope the LMA stick it to Cellino.

Very disrespectful to Redfearn, but I can't say I'm surprised.

If Rosler is given the freedom that he needs, I think they'll do quite well next season.

Matchday will be 25-33 I'm told.

Depends on the results and investments, maybe 20k if shit 25-28k if doing well.

Did you expect anything less of Cellino after the way he treated McDermott, as much as I loathe Leeds they do deserve better than this weird little parasite.

Nope, it's textbook Cellino. All about him and his ego, making sure he spouts his bullshit to the press. Seems Pearson is doing his donkey work in terms of making press appearances and spinning the company line. It's only a matter of time until they all get fed up of it.

Still, now he's in (RosIer) I hope the fans give him a fair crack at the whip. Redfearn has been offered his job at the academy back but I don't think anyone expecting him to take it

You take away the treatment of Redfearn you would have to say its a decent enough appointment given the direction the playing side of things need to head.

with Pearson here, who seems like a stable figure with ambitions, hopefully he is enough to keep that clown out of the lime light for a few months atleast

unless he is now realising he is just another yes man, hopefully he makes a stand and we actually begin to look like an actual football club again, not a media story base

Think its pretty disgraceful how they've treated Redfern there in the last few years up at Leeds.

Yep. Awful. I think most are happier with Rosler as a coach but under the circumstances, Redfearn did a very good job last season and it's another blot on Cellino's copybook to hang him out to dry after years of fantastic work behind the scenes.
