Dave Hockaday's reign at Elland Road has already come and gone after just six matches in all competitions this season, so it will be Neil Redfearn taking charge of Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday. The hosts come into the game drifting just above the relegation zone after losing 3 of their opening 4 games. There has been less confusion behind the scenes at Bolton, but the trotters have been struggling on the pitch also. They are in fact in a worse position than Leeds having picked up 1 point from a possible 12 and sit one place below Leeds in 22nd. The one point picked up did however come against league leaders Nottingham Forest and Dougie Freedman will be hoping for a similar performance against Leeds in order to pick up a result at Elland Road on Saturday. The last time the sides met at Elland Road Bolton ran out 5-1 winners, whereas last time the two sides met at the Macron Stadium Leeds overcame Bolton with a 1-0 win.
Gaetano Berardi and Rodolph Austin are the last additions to an injury list which will deprive caretaker boss Neil Redfearn of numerous squad members tomorrow. Austin is also a major doubt after a hamstring problem forced him to sit out of the visit to Valley Parade. Luke Murphy and Sam Byram are both banned following their recent red cards and Aidan White, Souleymane Doukara, Steve Morison and Lewis Walters are all on the sidelines. The Bolton manager could also be forced into making a change between the sticks after Adam Bogdan was forced off through injury last weekend.
I would think that Leeds would continue playing the 4-3-1-2 that they played under Hockaday and that Bolton will play a simple 4-4-2. I still think Leeds will come out victorious in this match even with the turmoil off the pitch and I predict a 2-1 win to Leeds.
