First ever meeting between both clubs.

All the eyes will be on Dean Cox this week after Hendon dropped him completely from the squad last week at Morecambe.

If Hendon doesn't win, he is going to face a potential backlash.....fans concerned by this latest twist.

Oh man, I had a great title for this thread lined up.

Cox played 90 minutes for the stiffs on Tuesday. Gulp.

Im really looking forward to this one - Orient is always a club Ive wanted to visit although it is a tough one for us. I remember Ian Hendon being sent off a couple of times against us when he was at Barnet - we must frustrate him!
The club seems to be on a high this week with new investment coming our way but I think I'll take a draw...

Fair play to Accrington, as good an away performance as you will see all season and a deserved win.

Apart from a very shaky opening 20mins they controlled the game well, we had one glorious chance to score in the first half which was the first chance of the game for us, which in the grand context of the game we had to take and Ollie Palmer missed it - infact he missed 2 other good chances as well.

Today for me showed how far Hendon is out of his depth, he's been able to bring in his own backroom staff and players on a decent budget, but the team with the lowest budget in the league played the better football. I haven't got a problem with the ball going long, but today wasn't one of those days to do it as Accrington were quite strong in the air. Although it wasn't helped given that around 7 of our team decided to put in awful performances, the type of poor performances which involve poor touches, dallying on the ball, poor range of passing and crossing.

Can only see us continuing to struggle now going forward, can't see us doing much with Hendon as the manager. 16 games in is enough time to give a fair assesement, whilst we will create chances we look awful as a team defensively - Which can't always be down to the back 4 and keeper.

No-one in midfield can tackle, and our fullbacks are horribly exposed when we don't have the ball. Tactically it's an absolute shitshow.

Thing is, that's the least of our defensive worries with the midfield imo, which I think is the root cause of our issues really. Positionally we're very naive when the opposition have the ball, we don't cut passing lanes well, good movement loses player, can't track the full backs, leave a lot of space on the opposite flanks where we only have 3 looking to defend. Of course, the tackling problem is we dive in so much in stupid positions, which of course leaves space behind. Moore is guilty of this, but more so Payne, as they dive in when they shouldn't. Just don't go for the tackle, it's so so naive. This is why I'm just not on the Payne bandwagon. I like him on the ball, pushing forward he has his head screwed on, but asking him to play as the most defensive of the midfielders really doesn't protect our defence as much as it should. It should be James in this role.

I actually think James and Payne would work really well in a 4-2-3-1 formation as the two deeper midfielders, but we don't have the personnel to play that.

*note - this is based on games that aren't today as I haven't seen it.

Also I find the messageboard today absolutely hilarious, especially some of the Baudry comments.

Not even going to comment on the Marquis and Cox debacle. Or the stick Marquis is getting, judge him when he's played at centre forward and not when he's being played in an unfamiliar role he's looked uncomfortable doing. (Maybe I did comment).

Having seen the goal now, I feel it proves my point about Payne perfectly. Mind you, Essam not reacting to the move (again) and Baudry playing an offside trap that noone else played also combined to hurt us.

Was the title "Stanley expecting to see Stiff Cox on show in the East End"?

Alas, no.

Not a surprise to see someone from Wycombe wasting time on this thread. Maybe I should concoct a stinging quip so you can feign injury as well.

...Inevitably being the right back who has somehow inexplicably wandered over to the left wing to do so.

Accrington weren't above a bit of Wycombing yesterday, mind. Plenty of diving/injury feigning once they'd gone ahead.
