May as well get another chapter in the Ashley Bayes/Darren Rowbotham super cup written.

Here are some highlights from the last time we actually won at Exeter back in January 2001:

We are expected to make some signings.

Jayden Stockley will score.

Hendon to get more abuse from an ever more growing frustrated fanbase.

Ahh the memories of earlier in the season, when an unbeaten Leyton came to SJP and we won 4-0. Ahh, good times.

Anyway, this season has been terrible really. We are not going to make top 7 and that is a real disappointment based on the optimism in the Summer with an increased transfer budget and the fact that we have some top players on our books.

With regards to this game, it's a shame the Liverpool replay has popped up a couple of days after this one, as now I doubt we'll take a very good following to Orient. I'll still be there, but it's probably going to be 200-300 instead of 400-500 City fans.

Anyway, Orient fans, you do not need to worry. We haven't won in the league since late November and no matter how bad you think you may be, this won't be changing on Saturday.

2-0 Orient.

Slightly more optimistic. I'll go 1-1.

No Signings, oh dear Hendon

You'll be nailed on to score though, we cannot keep a clean sheet for shit. Only 3 all season - mainly due to our teams structure in midfield, we're awful tactically in midfield - Part of the reason Exeter beat us 4-0 back in September was because Tisdale tactically out thought Hendon, 4-0 was harsh on the day but Tisdales better tactical ability meant Exeter got a very good win. Its also a small part of the reason why Simpson is currently scoring all the time.

Sammy Moore is back in the quad and Mvoto is also back which is a good bonus.

The score will either be 2-0 to Exeter, or a 1-1 draw and Simpson will score for us.

We will lose, I and about 90% of the rest of the fanbase have had enough of Hendon, awful manager with no idea tactically.

Same old story week after week with us.

Started well enough, but as soon as it went to 1-1 you could see Exeter were going to take charge and to be honest it should've been 4 or 5 by half time. We cannot defend at all, as a team and individually.

Second half Exeter played a very very risky game and they let us back in a fair few times, but Jay Simpson had a rare off day infront of goal with 2 penalty misses and he missed 2 chances. I can appreciate they have a big game in midweek, but it was a risky move! I actually thought Exeter were awful in the second half, another side may have nicked a draw - But they were excellent for 44mins of the first half.

Hendon cannot be sacked quicker, he once again blames the players and not himself. He also picked the wrong team Shaw and Jhaurado-Martin should've started.

We're still a way off of safety yet, which is looking very very unrealistic as every week goes by.

Terminator's summary sounds pretty much like the impression I got from the commentary. Couldn't believe we conceded so quickly, but, weirdly, it probably settled us and we were able to exploit Orient's weaknesses.

Sounds like Noble had a storming first half and was creating chance after chance. Three goals in two games for Stockley which is great and he's the sort of striker we've been lacking to play with Nichols.

Second half was backs to the wall and if Craig Woodman isn't dropped after giving away two penalties and being generally shite, I will give up. Luckily for us Simpson had a bad day and missed both.

Great three points though after a solid draw midweek. At home to Accrington next wk which will be tough but we have to put a good run together now to have any chance of pushing the play offs.

Heres hoping, but I have no faith in our directors to get anyone better in.

Don't say that we didn't warn you (although to be fair none of you were very enthused by his appointment in the first place).
All this comes back to our stupid owner and board again. We desperately needed an experienced manager to stop the rut we have been in since last season.

Hendon started well, the team looked like they were going to be playing the ball on the ground and the squad seemed to get that buzz back after last seasons awful team morale.

His tactics were quickly sussed out, combine that with the fact that we have kept only 3 clean sheets all season long, as a team our defensive structure has been awful. The constant long ball to Ollie Palmer has become boring and ineffective, our midfield don't offer enough support in both boxes.

His signings of Connor Essam and Ollie Palmer have been questioned by supporters, Palmer was always going to be a trier with no more than ten goals in a season, he has 6 now but he won't get much more.

Connor Essam has been poor for the last few months, slow and limited technical ability. He brought in Alan Dunne from Millwall and has left him in the lurch all season, granted he was poor in most of his starts but he hasn't been the only one.

His attitude in the press has been really poor though, he blamed the players for the third time this season today and has done it all season long - nothings ever been his fault. It left alot of supporters really resenting him and his smug attitude.

I'm glad he's gone, he will never be a good manager. But I don't trust our awful board and owner to get a proper manager in.

We weren't awful in the second half, I didn't think. We just won the match in the 1st half and obviously didn't feel the need to go out and score more.

First half was brilliant from us. Could quite easily have been 5/6/7-1 at the break. Once we got over the horrible start we played some great stuff. Noble was brilliant and was creating chance after chance. Stockley took both his goals well and Tom should have scored at least one of his two other chances.

Second half we barely touched the ball but I don't think we were bad. We let Orient do what they wanted and to be honest, even with all their possession the only chances they created were penalties. They weren't good at all.

Going back to us, it's those first half performances which makes it so frustrating why we are where we are. Free-flowing, counter attacking football which is a joy to watch. It's a massive shame we can't turn it on reguarly as I'm not sure how many of the sides between us and the automatics are even better than us.

Anyway, great day.

You have to remember you were up against a football club that is on its knees right now and will be in the Conference very soon.

Our centre half John Yves-Mvoto was subbed at half time because he quit the club FFS! :animatedf:

Yes but that aside, I thought we did well.

Anyway, we both have reasons to be happy. We finally won another game and your manager has gone! All the best for the rest of the season:bravo:

ah you bastids. Wait a week, why couldn't you. Poor show.

Doesn't matter. Rumour is that Hessenthaler has been put in charge for the rest of the season, so we'll still be utter dogshit.

Hess finishes 8th in this league, so you'll have that to look forward to.

I'd snap your hands off for 8th. We're going to end up with a '1' in front of that, though. Fucking basket case behind the scenes, and I really fear for us going forward.

He has a good eye for a player, but terrible tactical nous. He likes a target man, he signed Akinfenwa and then Kedwell for us in this league and we were pretty good going forward and shite at the back.
