Love how fans of other clubs know what we've spent and our finances far better than Lincoln fans.
All be in report in November.
Worth every penny what we spent on Akinde, played a huge part in our promotion to league one.

On a serious note do you know any other fees paid, Shackell, Andrade etc?

You mean we spent our income from 2 exceptional cup runs and a league win and a 150% increase in season ticket sales.....yes, we invested wisely to attain promotion- you should try it :bye:

Based on our catering, it is pretty much the only thing I can bite on!

Lincoln still require investment from wealthy individuals, which seems crazy considering the cup runs/ticket sales etc.

They had a genuine chance to be competitive and sustainable but went against it.

I guess last season still has the taste of bitter lemon- good luck in L2 next season....facing Bradford, Salford, Plymouth for those autos etc etc. Play-offs sound promising again.

I’m just having a laugh mate, I’m not really arsed either way - maybe you should try that before going on a lower league football forum :)

Mid table for me, Clive. Think we're more likely a Shrewsbury than a Luton, given how short the squad looks at the moment.

Akinde was a weird one, he’d be an absolute monster about 1 game in 3, then completely “meh” the rest of the time.

But hey, if any lower league players dared to show any kind of consistency then they wouldn’t be in the bottom 2 divisions.

Lincoln for me are forever stuck in some timewarp where Big Keef is the gaffer (RIP to the great man and his baseball cap) and they have an army of giants at the back that thump it long at any given opportunity. Not ageing myself at all there then.

Looking forward to the away game in September- different frogs for different times........

So Lincoln, what are your ticket prices all about, £24! at least your doing a deal for 1 adult 1 kid £28.50, if you'd kept kids full price you would have taken Coventry's crown of worst ticketing structure in the division.

Apparently we paid 700k for Akinde, someone has to pick up the tab.

£24 is a steal , you wait until you come to Posh , £26 in advance or £28 on the day ( idiot tax ) though you do get to sit on ' Vintage Seats ' watch your team have about 30% possession but still go home with 3 points , not a bad deal I reckon.

Unless you're massive , then you get ' Luxury ' seats in a newish stand but then the 3 points will not be a gimme !

It's Posh , it's what we do !

If there's any out of work managers reading this thread there is still a possibility of a position up 4 grabs around January 2020 , time to update them CV's :bg:

I went last season, didn't pay that, although it was the game where we were subsidised by the owner, I paid £23 for me and my boy. You did only charge £1 for kids which even with a £26 advance would be cheaper together than Lincoln.

Same for Lincoln fans who aren't in the membership scheme, that's why 6500 of us are season ticket holders works out at £15 a game if you bought one in February like I did.
Totally agree with you prices for all sport are ridiculous, went to a t20 game last weekend £19 in advance £24 on the day.
£23 for adults at Rotherham and £6 for under 12s or £8 for 13 to 17.
Don't the premier league have that campaign twenty is plenty?

Yeah, this isn't a slight against Lincoln, more a general WTF about ticketing prices to watch League One football. Still I'm the idiot for paying it, still planning on coming to Lincoln in a couple of weeks and still paid £30 to watch us at Birmingham yesterday.
I went on holiday to Croatia in May and went to 3rd tier football there, whilst the facilities were more like something you'd find in the National North/South or even the level below, the quality of the football on show was far higher. Paid £2.40 for myself and two kids. If I'd gone to the nearest top division side we'd have paid £9 and that was a stadium that wouldn't have looked out of place in the top divisions here.

Totally agree with you the prices are ridiculous now.
My daughter and I rarely go to away due to the cost.
You guys are also in shitty corner too.
Where you were in 2011 is now the family area, in fact the big stand is home fans only.
Away fans only get the Stacey West or part of it if you're bringing over 400.

Anyone Lincoln end heard about the impending trouble for our game in a couple of weeks. You may remember the last meeting had fair bit of aggro, which turned out to be nothing to do with Southend or Lincoln - was Leeds, Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham.
Anyway, the people who run our coaches have been given a heads up by the police that they expect a repeat and have given them names of people they do not want booked on to transport for the game.
I came up early last time and spent my day up the Cathedral end having a loving time, avoiding all the knuckle draggers. I've been told not to bring my boy to the game by shall we say some 'old faces' as they're looking forward to some fisticuffs. I said I'm going to be up the cathedral end again so they can smash up the Wetherspoons to their hearts content.
Obviously I'm now expecting a rather sizeable police presence.

Heard nothing, since the Cowleys arrived from your neck of the woods going to the game at Lincoln has become very much a family day out, me and many of my mates take our kids with us.
Sadly we do still have the idiots in the 8-9000 home fans but it's normally kept in check, sad if you can't bring your kids with.
Must admit don't remember any trouble when we last played Southend in 2011, I only remember the game as our last win in the league before our relegation.

We were 'only' £16 for tickets 3 years or so ago, but to keep in line with everyone else they've jumped up.

I can't recall any trouble last time you were up here but SB's numpties were banned a long, long time ago. You'll get a few who manage to get back in for local games but I can't imagine Southend being one to bring them out. There are very, very rarely police inside or around the ground nowadays unless it's a local one and even then, police inside is pretty minimal.

That said, despite inside the Stadium being very family orientated with lots of women, kids and families, the approach to the ground does still retain its bit of a 'something can kick off here at any moment' kind of vibe if you catch it on a bad day and it's probably a bit worse en-route to the ground.

But, like most place, it only finds you if you look for it. One thing that our lot have never done is randomly fight people like other places.

You have had & still possess a core of morons not just for football matches.

I went to Market Rasens big race meeting a couple of years back ( mid July ) , one one side of the platform were Grimsby & Chesterfield fans & the other Lincoln & Leicester & a massive brawl kicked off actually on the railway lines until plod showed up , but it was Lincoln fans who instigated it & must have been a pre planned thing.

I quite like going racing when football isn't on but fighting there & at Newmarket means I go on weekdays where proper race fans are there & zero morons !

I'm surprised Lincoln and Leicester were even on the same side because when we had a pre-season friendly against them cancelled a few years back on police advice, the Leicester lot still decided to travel in and fight in Lincoln.

Funny that, I went last year and had to ask someone why there were so many Plod at the station afterwards!! Your description above was pretty much what I got.

Didn't Lincoln have a lunatic full-back in the late 1980s who was (according to some localls I had a beer with before the game) banned from every pub in Lincolnshire for being a nuisance?

Can't remember his name, but the day I went the pitch had a sudden soaking before the game, and was very slippery. The ref, being Vic Callow, made no allowances for the conditions, and therefore booked two players from each side in the first 10 minutes for innocuous fouls due to them missing their footing. Then the Lincoln full back mentioned made a similar tackle, but instead of just accepting his booking like the previous four (who all presumably realised that asking Vic Callow to show common sense was fruitless) had a five minute rant and was sent off. The rest of the game was unmemorable - I think Dale won 1-0, but we had a long winning run against the Imps for no apparent reason around then.

We've been given a 1000 tickets so the Stacey West it is.
I'm looking forward to it already. Are the pubs around the cathedral as good as before or are there ones to not bother with this time?

They're as you were apart from one, which closed down recently, or was due to anyway.
