Congrats. So you can see a match in a real football temple. Good for you.

No, this time it will be a convincing and fully deserved victory for the Reds. ;)

You are a good man, Dirk, but you can't have seen many Liverpool home matches lately! The only church-like aspect of the place is the volume of the punters.

It does beat Stamford Bridge, though, I'll give it that.

What you mean when they were totally outsung by the Green Army a couple of weeks back?

I live near Anfield and one thing it isn't is a noisy temple, nor are they noisy fans. If I didn't look out of the window for home games I wouldn't know they were playing. Not to mention this 'Anfield roar'. Which is non existent. Yeah they sing their little song and all that and even that I can't hear from my house (which is within earshot) most weeks.
The funny thing is. I can hear when Everton score. Yet they are further away.

I've only been on Anfield once and can confirm they are quiet! I l live a 5 minute walk from the stadium and the silence is deafening!

I swear Sky/BT/BBC Dub on fan noise!

Exactly, it's silent most of the time these days.

Old Trafford isn't much better but you still get the "special Anfield atmosphere" stuff trotted out and it isn't the case anymore.

The last time I went was 1983 and they had a good side then and the atmosphere was very poor then for a league cup semi! When I say they had a good side. I mean they won the title!

To be fair, none of the so-called Big 6 seem to have a proper atmosphere these days. Too many plastics and tourists.

All seater stadia haven't helped that one Camborne. With terraces the noisy fans gathered in groups. Seats ended that by dispersing fans around the stadiums.

I've seen all their latest home matches (as you have those of ManU, I presume). Or do you mean live at the stadium? OK, the last one live at Anfield was in April 2016 with Borussia. So, I think I have one more live game at Anfield in the last year than some of the "real" fans :D
I didn't mean the "atmosphere" but the status of Anfield as a football temple (or maybe this is not the right expression in english but we Germans call Football cult grounds like Borussia's or Liverpools (and even ManU) "Fußball-Tempel " so it was a 1:1 translation. Sorry, if I have maybe used the wrong term.

It does beat Stamford Bridge, though, I'll give it that.

Interesting btw: Chelsea Royale is from Manchester and supports a London club and you are from London (?) and support a Manchester Club. You Brits :D . Maybe I, born in Hamburg, should support Bayern Munich, 900 km south?

Agreed Tubular. We may be stuck in L1, but I am always grateful to the likes of Bristol R, Exeter and Yeovil for still having terraces.

No the term you used was fine it could just be taken a few different ways. I was referring to atmosphere whereas you seem to be referring to something less concrete, more historical, perhaps. The ghost of when the stadium was actually an impressive one, all things considered. It is one of the most impressive stadiums if you consider what has actually happened there over the years, which I think is part of what you mention.

I'm also not from London, I'm not sure who told you that.

It is strange to see a Chelsea fan from Manchester, but perhaps not in Chelsea Royale's case because he is clearly obsessed with both United and Liverpool. He didn't fancy supporting City (until recently) so he just went for the next richest in Chelsea.

Can't beat terraces for generation of an atmosphere. By it's very structure, it lends to people being able to congregate in a group which makes for great atmosphere. Surprised by Gillingham, think they have potential to do better than they do on their catchment area.

Didn't want to insult you here and I stand corrected. Just checked it in the Awards section and it says only "Southern ManU Fan"

From your lips to God's ears. I am only hoping that they can avoid the 4th home loss in a row, so I would already be pleased with a draw to stop the downslide a bit. Of course a win would be better.

If G-Dragon and Saltire's mastubatory levels of excitement over Mané's return are justified then Liverpool will surely win this one convincingly with a hat trick (at least) going to the Senegalese hero.

No, I'm not, its a prediction. That's how they work. Good chance of a win though, we generally play better in the big games. And of course I hope it's right too, partly because it means our shit form will pick up and also because it might result in you fucking off.

Unfortunately he won't start. He will probably be come on as a cameo. As such, I am going for a COMFORTABLE VICTORY for Chelsea. The rot will continue.

I can't mock the size of your testicles this time around as your prediction is pretty much in line with Liverpool's current form. You are at home but that doesn't seem to offer you much advantage at the moment whereas Chelsea haven't lost at Anfield in their last five visits and have won fifteen of their last sixteen league games.

If Klopp keeps being stubborn and plays narrow its gonna be bloodbath. No way we are gonna go through that Chelsea defense through middle. Their counter will just destroy us.

Going for 1 - 1 here. Liverpool have been struggling when teams let them have all the possession eliminating the fast paced pressing and Mourinho's Chelsea would sit back and let them do that, however Conte is more proactive so will do a bit of that but will also attack and hence I think Liverpool could still get some joy against them.
