Gotta win this to keep our remaining league games interesting. Otherwise that "nothing to play for" feeling is going to creep into our run-in.
Should be curious to see how our midfield does without Henderson, Lucas and Can (suspended). Would also rest a few guys with the Dortmund game in mind, give starts to Flanagan, Ibe and Skrtel.

I'd expect he'll go with Allen and Milner in the centre with maybe Coutinho, Firmino and Ibe with Origi or Sturridge up top. I'd be tempted to rest a couple of players though and give the likes of Flanagan and Ibe a chance.

Awful defending for the set piece.

Decent first half from us, bar the set pieces of course. Ojo looks class, a much more interesting prospect than Ibe whom I've never rated.

Positive full league debuts for Ojo and Stewart and a big win, can't ask for more than that!

I did'nt get up till 8 o'clock tonight (don't ask!) so missed the match entirely. Sounds like the replacements did very well. Always good seeing Ojo get games, he's going to be a heck of a player. With Origi and Sturridge scoring as well it keeps them sharp and in form for Thursday.

Good result and good performance. Just a shame it means the square root of jack shit bar the additional confidence boost going into the second leg against Dortmund this week.

How so? This result keeps us in the race for Europa League spots = there's still something to play for in the league. I'm thoroughly enjoying our EL campaign this season and would like to be there again next season.

You could be in the CL if you knock out Dortmund this week!

I don't know about that. Sevilla are still around and they're bloody machines in the EL. If we do knock out Dortmund we'd rightfully be favorites to win it, but it'd still be far from a given.

You only know after the EL final have you qualified to CL through that, that's the last game of the season. So, it's all to play for in the league when it comes to Europe qualification.

Honestly I don't want another season of Europa League. I think we have only won 3 games in the league that follows after a European game. With our style of play playing in EL, League cup, Fa Cup and League is going to be too much. Not trying to discredit what Leicester and West Ham have achieved so far this season, I think they would be 6+ points worse off have they been involved in Europa league or gone further in all 3 cup competitions. Conversely, we could have been better off than where we are atm.
