An essential 3 points before we go into the United game. We'll do it. Even setting aside we're the better team, West Ham can't seem to win at Anfield, having lost or drawn their last 42 league visits.

2-1.

Think it will be a close one but we'll win with a couple of second half goals.

Nice to see you look at the history of the game for a change  i think with the good 1st half at Arsenal people will expect Liverpool to steamroller the Hammers, i think Liverpool will struggle but still win 2 - 1

I was aware of City's record at Goodison, but they had started far too well and Everton were too inconsistent for the result to be in doubt for me. I predicted City would win by two goals and they did.

Remember opening day? West Ham about to step into a new era, Reece Oxford was the new 'It' boy and everything was peachy with a huge win against Arsenal. That was only 2 games ago, the shine has gone and I think West Ham will really struggle this season.

I don't even think they'll make it past the first 10 minutes without conceding. 3-1 Liverpool, with Reece Oxford scoring a no-look, half way line bicycle kick.

I don't think it'll be easy, but quite similar to our games against Stoke and Bournemouth. Think we'll win by one or two at most and hopefully keep a fourth clean sheet in a row.

The back four picks itself right now, as should Coutinho, Benteke and Firmino, despite the latter being a bit invisible against Arsenal. Henderson is back I think, and Milner will probably start as well so it only really comes down to whether we're going for an extra winger (Lallana/Ibe/Markovic in order of likelyhood) with Coutinho in the middle or Emre Can in the middle with Coutinho out wide. Could go either way but I reckon it'll be Lallana in for Lucas and Henderson in for Emre Can even though Emre didn't really do much wrong against Arsenal.

In that case it'll look a bit like this:

Mignolet
Clyne - Skrtel - Lovren - Gomez
Henderson - Milner
Firmino - Coutinho - Lallana
Benteke
Even though Lallana started behind Benteke against Bournemouth it didn't really work, so I'd expect Coutinho to be there in the same 4-2-3-1 we saw against Stoke, bar Firmino for Ibe.

We're generally quite underwhelming when we play this straight 4-2-3-1 and I don't think this will be much different, even though I think we'll win.

Edit: Apparently Lallana is a doubt for this game, in which case I'm not sure how we're gonna line up. Probably Ibe right, Firmino left, but could also go with three in the middle adding Can pushing Coutinho out wide. It's a toss really, but were it up to me I'd like to see Markovic on the right, Firmino left.

i was merely pointing out that you made no mention of City's record at Goodison to come to your prediction even though it apparently comes into the equation on other games.

Not mentioning it doesn't equate to not being aware of it, as I have pointed out above. Also, West Ham's bad track record at Anfield goes back far further than City's does at Goodison, and arguably deserves more of a mention.

Anyway, the match.

I hope we don't start Lallana or Ibe, especially when we have better options. Either swap Lallana/Ibe out with Ings or go back to the formation against Arsenal, replacing Lucas with Can. This could give Henderson and Milner more freedom to attack.
I am going with 2-1 win for us.

I'm not expecting anything from this game other than a home win, the last time we won at Anfield was 1963 when we came away with a 2-0 win with Hurst & Peters scoring....................but I'm ever hopeful.:fing:

I'm concerned West Ham will be buoyed by the news Kevin Nolan has left the club.

Yeah he's back at Melwood. Been checking his Facebook page and he's been posting vids of his training. He's looking sharp, let's hope he can come back for good this time!

You incorrectly accused me of following Schweinsteiger on twitter and all this time you've been tossing one off over Sturridge's personal facebook page!
