Not the best performance, started brightly but waned a bit as the game went on. Balotelli coming on though helped, he's been decent the last three matches he's been involved in and looks up for it. Scores the penalty to win it as well. The media are making this out to be more of an issue as to who should take it, than it really should be. If there are issues I'm sure all concerned will have a brief chat about it, know where everyone stands and move on - the important thing was the win, though I'd personally have liked it to have been by a bigger margin as this Besiktas side are no mugs and Liverpool will have to be at it in Istanbul once again.

It's more about players arguing over who should be taking it than the actual players involved, and as mentioned the Liverpool supporters who seem to think this is some media campaign against them might want to have a look at Mr.Liverpool, their captain, being the biggest culprit of portraying it negatively. Reid was all for it.
