We were fantastic again.

Our performances recently have gone to another level. We've managed to play a possession based game whilst creating great chances. Honestly felt we controlled that whole game. Everyone played well, but Mata was unreal. Didn't put a foot wrong. Gerrard was idiotic.

Great performance. Lets keep it up.

Great first half performance with Mata and Herrera absolutely outclassing Liverpool.

Overall a deserved win, its always gonna get edgy at Anfield at some point no matter what the situation but we were the better side for 80%+ of the game and were the rightful winners.

The Gerrard sending off in his final game vs United was better than Ba last year. Just perfect.

Smalling was a beast and Jones did well but still had his usual moments of madness. Rooney was poor as was Blind but none of them were as bad as Di Maria when he came on. It's obvious he has a lot of quality but something is just seriously wrong with him here. It's not a coincidence we had our best performance of the season without him and looked to repeat it till he came on today. Our previous great winning run was when he was injured too. Incredibly disappointing for a 50/60 million player.

Credit now has to go to LVG. Some have been desperate to compare him with Moyes highlighting the money spent without the circumstances he inherited. Highlighting points totals when te reality was that our worst form under Moyes came the longer e'd been in charge whereas Van Gaal started horribly. We were always going to significantly beat last seasons points haul (we are 4 behind now) and Van Gaal despite all the problems as faced looks likely to get top 4 or at very least come close which we all know wasn't even remotely the case last year.

But the biggest thing is our performances against the better teams. I honestly look to the Chelsea and City games knowing we can get something. Compare our performances against our rivals with last season and its beyond question that Untied the correct thing swapping Moyes for Van Gaal. It's time for Moyes defenders to finally admit they were wrong.

Edited as it would be wrong not to mention the hilarity of Liverpool fans cockiness these last few weeks backfiring so horribly. Does any other club do it better?

United tactic were brilliant first half, totally negated the system Liverpool have been playing since December. Fair play to Van Gaal, he got it spot on. United played with their heads, controlled themselves and were deserved winners.

Steven Gerrard, what a ridiculous thing to do from someone like him. You can see what he was thinking, that he'd come on and show everyone what a United v Liverpool game was all about. Tear arsing about the pitch for 30 seconds and lost his head immediately. I cannot believe he has gone out like that, United fans will sing about this for a hundred years. It's kind of surreal what he has done, barely believable. I think Liverpool would definitely have got back into the game had it been 11 v 11, they couldn't play as badly as the first half.

And yes, Skrtel is sure to get a 3 match ban for doing the same. A cowardly thing to do.

Mata is slow and weak but he is so productive that he should always be selected. Almost always contributes a goal or an assist. To score a goal like that in a pressure match like that was majestic.
