No way we will win this after playing on Tuesday for the maximum period. Probably more game time for some of the U-21 players. On top of that West Ham are a very good team, did a double on us already. Treble and something like this on the cards..

Wouldn't mind going out of this competition considering we are already in the final of the other similar competition.

Yeah think WHU will progress as well. Hopefully a good game though and a closer one than the meetings have been so far this season.

Klopp may play the kids again as a few of the regulars looked exhasted in extra time the other night.

I don't think you'll get very far playing kids in this one.

I don't think they'd get much further with the first team either. He may mix it a bit on reflection but with playing Leicester on Tuesday I don't see it being the full side.

Would like to have seen Ojo start but of course playing West Ham is a big step up in class over Exeter.

We're by far the better team so far, the youngsters showing will and skill.

Thought the first half was pretty even, but Liverpool been much the better in the second with some good chances but as usual poor finishing. West Ham will probably nick it though no doubt!

Liverpools reserves do better than their first 11.

Klopps reaction to an obviously stupid question when asked if we saw the result of playing 5 games in 13 days is like a mime version of saying "Are you fucking stupid?".

Unlucky not to win it. Happy with the replay since we are just using this competition to give more game time to our youths... and one donkey.

Waste of time. What are we charging for tickets in these games we can't be bothered to line up a decent side? I don't like it, it's disrespectful in more ways than one.

Klopp should find a way to rotate, to be able to play twice a week an entire season without sending out the reserves three times in one month (have we ever done that?). We should be pleased with getting a draw at home to West Ham considering the XI, but it's a fucking shit attitude. If he does the same in the replay, and we predictably go out, it's all on him. No doubt he'll blame the fixture congestion though, as if he couldn't possibly see it coming.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
I hope someone is writing all this stuff down for Pep as a guide to 'not getting caught out by the fact football in England is slightly different'

He seems utterly befuddled by having to play games over Christmas and having sides further down the league not just be shit alsorans who roll over and die.

He isn't used to it yet and this season is about learning how to manage a side to cope with all these games. What else can he do but play a weakened side without risking burning out the first team who looked fucked against Stoke the other night.

The side he chose yesterday also made a better fist of it than the first team did in the other two games against West Ham this season anyway and were unlucky not to win in the end so he was justified in his selection imo.

Think Klopp might play stronger side than last time. Maybe Sturridge will get a start.

Given you only have the cup competitions then you should play as strong a side as you are able to. What's the point in testing players out in a competition you can do something in and playing your strongest 11 in the league when you're not going to achieve anything in it?
You've got West Ham in the FA cup, Villa in the league and Augsburg twice in the Europa before the final against Man City. You should be fielding your weakest side against Villa and possibly the 2nd tie against Augsburg if you get a decent result in the first leg. That way you can rest players for the final whilst at least trying to progress in the other comps. What effect will playing at full strength against Villa mean at the end of the season regardless of result?
A cup win would be a great start for Klopp. A double would be incredible really.

I wouldn't have agreed with this 3/4 weeks ago but now I have to agree. Go all out for the FA Cup and play the kids in league games, esp home. FA Cup is doable with the squad we have and the players returning from injury. However, we will need luck to go far in the Europa League.

Yep they have to concentrate on the cups, I just feel presently the odds of them going through against West Ham are small. Hope its a cracking game though.

I agree with the comments above. Liverpool should play their strongest team in this cup, and give themselves a real chance of going far in this competition. They're already in one cup final, so why not go all out and try and make it two cup finals.

Anything less than a full strength side would be ridiculous. We're 12 points behind 4th so nothing to play for in the league so what would we be resting our best players for? I still don't believe it will make a difference though, West Ham have our measure this season and are making up for the decades where they struggled to get anything off us, even when we were playing shite. And even if Sturridge starts, he's got such a lack of match fitness having not played for over two months (and even then only briefly) I really can't see him making the difference. Actually, I can't see him completing more than an hour on the pitch, even if he's doing well.
