Smash is what in most peoples perception? I'm thinking by 4? Bookies offering 150:1....... Fucking hate Crawley. Right up there with the Dongs, both well behind the Golden Shower but thats geographical.
Can't see that midfield working, defense would get swamped. Cam spends all his time upfield and Paddy doesn't run. Need one of Lee, Smith or Lawless in there, probably for Pelly. Other than that, I'd be surprised if it is a very similar lineup to that.
Be surprised if Lee got dropped today, think he fits in well with how Jones wants to play. Yes he does need to improve a bit defensively but he has a decent range of passing for this level and with a more defensive minded midfielder with him I think he would do well. Bit of shame Doyle has been injured the majority of the season as could have seen them being quite good together under Jones, both decent passers of the ball.
Be interested to see how we line up today, I liked how we used Smith last week against Orient but at home id like to think we would play a bit more on the front foot and get on the ball a bit more.
First time in a while that I'm actually quite looking forward to a home game, lovely day for it and going for 5 wins on the bounce, what more could you ask for!
Very frustrating, we've absolutely dominated, even before the goal, but find ourselves behind. To be fair to Crawley they have packed their defence pretty well, going to be tough to break down.
Well I don't really know what to say - a bit bemused to be honest, because we absolutely "smashed them" to quote Crawley's ex-CEO yet ended with a 1-0 defeat. We did absolutely everything but score; Crawley did nothing all game apart from pounce on a lapse of concentration, as Matt Harrold does, from a set piece.
I've not seen an absolute domination of a team from us, since we got promoted back to the Football League. We had around 75% possession in the first 40 mins!
Such a ridiculous game. Hit the bar, hit the post, two cleared off the line, two hand ball penalty shouts (one stonewall) and they should have had a man sent off for hauling down Piggott. Probably the best we have played since we've been back in the football league.
Crawley offered absolutely nothing and began time wasting halfway through the first half. Ok, they got the result. But as Nathan Jones said when we beat York, you aren't going to win many games playing like that.
If I hadn't been at that game, and someone had tried to describe what had happened, I wouldn't have believed them. Absolutely ridiculous result. It's not as if Crawley defended well, it's just that EVERY single possible piece of luck went their way, all game. We must have run over an entire family of black cats all in one go!
