Good luck Mac Lads, this NWC league is good fun.
If you can keep the Moss Rose as well you will have a ball mate.

So the deal has now been done. In short:
  • Rob Smethurst the new owner - local businessman
  • Danny Whitaker first team manager
  • Robbie Savage head of football (1st team, down through to U16s)
  • Other board members include mix of Smethursts colleagues from other business interests (Carlos Roca from Pro Football Academy) and well known local persons - Andy Scott, ex vice-chairman, John Smart ex supporters trust chairman.
  • Investing in the ground (including 4G pitch, classrooms, hospitality) to create more revenue streams
  • Hoping to start in North West Counties next season
  • Club renamed to Macclesfield FC, but kept the badge etc

Now I must go back through all of B2TF's posts to figure out whether we're a new club or not and get my position straight on that immediately.

Stockport County.
Glad they've got sorted and can start re-building with a new club.

When is it acceptable to start taking the piss out of them? Is it still too raw?

Macclesfield fans enjoyed County slipping down the leagues and having to battle tooth and nail to keep our club alive.

Enjoy the dog shit infested, cat piss soaked pitches that await you in the North West Counties boys xx

What about step 2 relegation? 22nd place in the North will surely go down, will they send down 21st in the South or will they only do that if they have worse PPG than 21st in the North?

Should have reprieved Ebbsfleet really

He'll be along in a minute with the phone number for the FA.

New club in my view, even though I've not looked into it properly.

Played on plenty of them myself so will be nice to watch from the sides with a pint in hand instead.

Big difference between slipping down the leads and having your club liquidated though.

Yep I agree, new club. Just with some of the old assets staying in place - ground, badge etc

Indeed, if Darlington get the new club treatment despite retaining their name and crest then Macclesfield get it too.

I can answer that for you- the refomed club designation is no longer available but in any case the break in participation makes it unlikely you would have qualified in any case. This will be confirmed when you are barred from the FA Cup for 3 years and the FA Trophy for 2 years. As a reformed club, we have an unbroken record of participation in the FA Cup all the way back to 1920, when the club forgot to apply for entry. To be fair we had a lot on our plate, what with it being our first season in the newly formed Third Division North, although none of the other debut clubs, (even Wrexham) made the same administrative error.

Thanks for asking, chuck. :ds:

Nobody asked you, and how typical that you admit you haven't looked into it properly, an admission that makes your opinion worthless, while at the same time being happy to pronounce on the matter. :bdick:

But we're still in the Brotherhood right?

Well if a new Halifax club is in the Brotherhood then I had just presumed it was open to anyone.

Now you've had this long awaited yet vitally important clarification, your club can finally move on. All the best for the future.
What was the fancy dress planned for last season. That last league game as a non league club almost made me tolerate clowns. Hurry up and get back in the shambolic EFL with the other proper clubs.

We'll try but we have to get it right this season for the sake of the club's future.

Not sure what the fancy dress idea was, think the season ended too early for all that.

Hopefully Dave Challinor can do it for you. Too many clubs like the repulsive Salford City here. Its good to see The Bunker forum is as disrespectful as ever. One of the better ones.

A lot of posters there have gone, allegedly to private forums so it's not as active as it was like.

All that's left on The Bunker are the right wing nut jobs and other assorted weirdos.

Shame. The league 2 forum is ok apart from one or two obvious ones who think they are beneath themselves and a few weird southerners. Do you know anything about a player called Jack Young. Just joined us on loan from Newcastle. Midfield.
