I read that the final nail has been hammered into the ESL's coffin now that JP Morgan, the American bank and backer, has pulled out of the project.

Ha ha. You have completely and utterly missed the point I am making, and I suspect not deliberately. You were referring to pure economics, whereas I am suggesting that a political economy perspective is more applicable. I am giving primacy to political considerations rather than economic. The need to maintain electoral support of Red Wall seats is a clearly rational self-interest decision to explain BoJo’s motivation to act promptly in this crisis. My view is not based on any personal politics, but an understanding of political science influenced by work like that of Thomas Piketty and Simon Lee, not The Gruaniad.
No, you misunderstand capitalism. Probably because of politics.

Christ almighty. So, on top of relegation I've now got to deal with someone who advocates the views of Dinesh D'Souza as actaul serious point of view.
