I hope David James slaps Steve Mcmanaman.

I fully intend to win several thousand quid today, so I need a WBA win here.

0-1. Set piece. It's a shame Brunt isn't playing.

Referee has fucked up and McAuley off in the second minute.

Just great. That's the bet down the pan.

Definately a red, but sent off the wrong man.

Well the challenge is a sending off cos he's last man, trouble is it's the wrong man!

Or should City be agrieved that there wasn't a penalty?

Not going to make it much easier for City. Still everyone behind the ball but probably with even less attacking intent now.

Was Bony going to score? I missed it and the camera angles on the replay aren't great.

Just hope it doesn't ruin the game and West Brom make a fight of it.

No they shouldn't.

Just going off what the Comms lot said. There were two fouls. He seemed to blow for the first and send off the perpetrator of the second.

He would have been one on one.

A Tony Pulis side reduced to 10 men for all but two or three minutes of the game away at the Premier League champions. Plenty of goals in this one.

Think it was more likely a case of mistaken identity, if it wasn't then surely City should have had a penalty?

Ultimately if he's sent the right guy off, then yeah it should be a penalty as the challenge (which I'm not sure was a foul without looking again) was in the area. But as he's given a free kick, I don't think the ref has seen the second challenge as a foul, and that's what's ended the advantage played and he's brought it back. Then he's sent the wrong guy off. We'll get it clarified at HT apparently. Should be interesting.
Get on for Lampard to open the scoring.

Every commentator on BT Sport is horrific. He's not given a penalty because it's the first offence that's punished and he accidentally sent off the wrong person you idiot.

Does look like mistaken identity now they've shown the wider angles again. Which I suppose is good for WBA as they now won't lose a player for a game.

Another replay and McAuley makes a good challenge, so it's defo a case of the ref fucking up.

Which is a shame because the way he played the advantage and applied the red despite Bony not rolling around like a bitch I thought was top drawer as so often refs are lenient on players when the opponent doesn't play act, when they shouldn't be.

That's a shame, I fancied West Brom to hold City or even sneak a winner, City have been awful lately. Pulis side or not City should be able to break them down with a man missing.

He played advantage and pulled it back. Other than the fuckup of sending off the wrong chap, that's not bad reffing. And if you want to get rid of diving, refs have got to start acting when players don't act like they've been shot or surround the ref shouting at him.

Michael Owen still believes there is a rule about someone being the "last man".

Michael Owen still believes there is a rule about someone being the "last man".

I think it's useful shorthand because it does imply the denial of a clear chance. I know it's not 'the law' but from a descriptive point of view it differentiates that sort of foul from, say, a handball on the line, which would also be denying a clear goalscoring opportunity

I really, really hate Michael Owen, Steve McManaman and Robbie Savage as commentators. Especially the latter two, at least Michael Owen is relatively boring and inoffensive. Someone needs to tell Steve and Robbie that moaning about everything and seeming outraged and appalled is not good analysis.
