What an immense result, backs to the wall defending. Phycologically massive to take the point from that, a late winner would have crushed us. Instead that'll be a huge confidence boost.

Will be interested to see how Ibrahimovic and Mings are treated retrospectively. Suspect I know the answer, and Mings will be hammered.

He should be.

3 match for Zlatan minimum five for Mings id say. Stamping on someones head is potentially life threatening, it was disgusting.

What did Surman get sent off for, by the way?

I missed that as I am very ill (dying) and was drifting into sleep at that point.

Tried to tackle a Utd player and that's not allowed.

Was on a yellow then after Zlatan got stamped on he ran over and pushed him. Second yellow i think, if so the right decision.

Boruc had a good game but Bounemouth didn't even defend that well, we just couldn't put our chances away. We've been like that all season at Old Trafford. Failed to beat Stoke, Burnley, West Ham and Hull in similar circumstances at home.

Hard to believe we've not been cut adrift from the teams above us with a record like that.

We're going to have to win the Europa League because we seem to have become very attached to sixth spot.

Oh come on, you aren't even trying now - you could have fit way more 6s into that.
You wanted you got it.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Drama drama, frantic viewing having watched it all back.

Afobe's miss

Glad MOTD covered Zlatans attempted stamp, as well as his other various antics, and gave him some stick.

As well as the whole event where Mings should have gone. Whether he means it or not, you expect a red there. The elbow also a clear red. Although they didn't expect any retrospective action oddly for either. We'll have to see, I'd be surprised if nothing more happened.

Never realised that Surman only got sent off because Rooney reminded the ref that he'd already booked Surman. Embarrassing stuff. Given what the ref let go today, Surman can feel incredibly hard done by.

Penalty on Smith is a "see them given". His arm is up all be it because he's jumping. Always taking the risk.

Regarding our pen, If United had watched or prepared any footage of Pugh for their defenders, they'd know that's how he takes on defenders in the box every week. Stop and switch foot. Naive (from Jones?)

Barmy game, fantastic result. Thank you Boruc.

And West Ham too.
I said West Ham. I'd put the Liverpool and Arsenal games in there too, we dominated in both games and created enough chances to win but only came away with a point. We've drawn more games at home than we've won in the league.

MUFC have a home win percentage of 42.8% in the league this season. You have to go back to 1990, when team finished 13th, to go below that.

Thought it was the fourth official, but it's much funnier this way!

Anyone know why Mings originally stepped on Zlatan?

That Zlatan elbow is horrendous, he should be looking similar to the ten (?) match ban that Rochdale player got earlier in the season.

As should Mings if he meant it - but i'm not convinced that he did.

Yeah an elbow to the head is definitely not life threatening.

Also wasn't it your old Manager who claimed RVP could've been killed when somebody blasted a ball at him when he was down on the floor? XD

I find it laughable that people are saying Mings might not have meant it. It's clear as day he knew what he was doing. He aimed his foot right for his head and run off after, you know when you've stamped your foot on someone's head, if he didn't mean it he would've checked Zlatan was alright.

Credit to Zlatan for showing such restraint by only giving him a little elbow to the face. I'm sure most people would've reacted much harsher.

A stamp on the head is far worse than an elbow. The former is even banned in MMA and that is without studs. I can't definitively say whether or not Mings meant it, it looks much worse in slow motion and he wasn't looking at Zlatan's head during the jump - it might have been a misjudged jump. Either way it was reckless play and deserved a straight red.

He looked right at him just before the boot made contact. He knew exactly where he was.

Don't you look at an object before you attempt to jump over it? You can't be conclusive about it based on slow motion film. He's also off-balance mid jump because he's attempting to regain his balance after getting up and he makes contact with Rooney whilst hurdling Zlatan. Everything looks worse in slow motion.

If I'm jumping over someone's head I wouldn't look away mid-jump (unless I was trying to make it look like I didn't mean to stamp on their head) and if I did accidentally make contact I would at least turn around to make sure I didn't do too much damage. I understand your point of view but in my opinion it's fairly clear cut.

You might not, but a footballer trying to catch up with the play (Mings is looking at Martial during the attack too) probably wouldn't be as careful when jumping over someone. I can understand your view too, but it isn't laughable that people believe Mings might not have meant it as you originally asserted. Only Mings knows really, he certainly should have apologised but he was also concentrating on defending.

Also, what would have happened if his studs landed flush on Zlatan's head? If he meant to stamp on him and he wasn't shifted off-balance by coming into contact with Rooney, that must have been his intent? An intent that could have legitimately hospitalised Zlatan. Do you really think that's likely? I have never seen a player purposefully stamp on an opponent's head before...the more I think about it, the more I think it was accidental, but very reckless/careless play. Otherwise we are looking at potentially one of the worst fouls ever committed in football (well, that I have seen anyway).

Mings has only recently returned from a long term injury and had only made a handful of pl apps prior to the game, he probably isn't used to playing against someone as physical/aggressive as Zlatan. Not long prior to that incident I remember something else happened between the two where Zlatan threw Mings to the ground. I think he wanted to show that he wasn't going to be pushed around and saw opportunity to give a bit back, more a case of losing his head for split second and over stepping the mark rather than trying to cause serious damage. You're right that only Mings knows really but I find it hard to believe that it was accidental.
