Truth is this clown has a worse record than Moyes, and Moyes didn't spend 250mil, if memory serves me correct Moyes spent 60 whilst at Utd

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Mike 'Grappler' Smalling getting away with murder yet again, and those boos are like musical nectar aren't they lads? :ainsley:

Felliani still getting away with being 95% elbow, too.

Clear foul in the area on Long in the first half not given...

Got to be honest, the referee was awful from a Southampton point of view yesterday.

Although the foul on Austin for the free kick that led to the goal was a soft one.

Exactly. Yet David Moyes is made out to be the villain on Twitter and almost United fans. He did a more solid job than that ugly fucker LVG IMO

The football is getting worse. This isn't a moan about the same old story, it's the truth. We used to win but play very boring, possession based football. Then we would play the same football but draw or lose. Recently, we've been getting bad results and can't string two passes together. Yesterday's plan seemed to be 'run towards the ball and kick it' when off the ball. While on the ball it was 'play a floating ball over into their half of the pitch where one guy will challenge three men to win a header. If he wins the header it won't matter because there's nobody up front.'

Moyes was better and that's not a joke anymore.

Funny that last week LVG was portrayed as a living deity. Make up your mind... ;)

The biggest issues for me are the performances and the players. To be honest, most of the results we've had this season haven't bothered me that much, and I don't think the fans would be that bothered if we were getting these results while playing entertaining football. It'd be disappointing, but at least we'd be seeing our team go out and try to entertain us and try to win a game.

We seem to have taken a step back from last season. We used to go out and we'd play decent football and get results, and we'd throw the kitchen sink at teams in the last 10 minutes if it was needed. Sometimes we didn't get results, we got caught out by a lot of teams who were happy to come and sit in the box and maybe nick a goal, but in the main we got the results and we got the top 4. This season we're playing worse football, there is no energy or urgency to go win a game. Most games we start well and for 20 minutes we look like scoring, but then we just stop, we change our tactics and revert to trying to pass the other team to death. But then we have games like this one, like Liverpool, like Stoke, where the other team stops us dominating the first half and the players just fall flat, we revert to trying to long ball it to Fellaini and losing the ball straight back. It's pathetic.

A lot of people are pointing to the tactical changes in the game, 5 at the back in a game like this is a joke, but only because of the personnel. If we had Young and Valencia and Shaw and Darmian, we'd have attacking players bombing the wings all game long and we'd be able to overhaul opposition, but because of injuries those players are all out and we have to use Borthwick-Jackson and McNair and Varela, and they can't do it. We could make more use of Blind if we weren't relying on him to play centre back because for some reason we still think Rojo and Jones are going to be able to stay fit for a season. Phil Jones can't stay fit for 45 minutes.

In centre mid, which should now be a very strong area for us with the likes of Herrera, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and Carrick floating about, has suddenly become dominated by Fellaini starting every game. Why? He's a plan B player, he's the kitchen sink we should be throwing at teams when the situation calls for it, not the plan A, he's not good enough. And again, we could put Blind in that area, he did well there last season, but no, he has to play centre back instead. And in front of them, we could have Mata, who is probably our best player, but we don't because apparently he needs to play right wing. And we could have Martial up front but apparently he also needs to play on the wing.

I said at the very start of the season, with a fully fit team, with Januzaj and Wilson, our squad looked really thin, especially going forward. I understand that the manager wants to promote youth and use our youth team as squad players, but it reaches absurd levels. And with that strategy of using youth for squad players, why are we not actually using our best young talent? Wilson, Januzaj, Pereira, Goss, they've barely played, if at all, in favor of moving players out of position to cover for our injured and underperforming.

I said a month ago, United need a change. Whether it's the manager, the personnel, the mindset, the play-style, something needs to change. And for a few weeks the playstyle changed and I was happy, even with a 3-3 draw at Newcastle I was happy. 2 weeks on the bounce we've fallen back into bad habits, we need another change. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised to see us drop out of the top 4 race and crash out of the Europa League at the first hurdle.

But not really relevant cos nobody involved in that goal was turfed out of Utd were they?

Anyway thanks for not watching Leicester anymore. Seems to be working out.
Di Maria was involved. His pass to Matuidi was then passed on to Van der Wiel.

And no worries about not watching Leicester anymore. I only watch Ligue 1 these days. That way I'm never disappointed.

Leicester/PSG in the CL has a certain ring to it...

The narrative last week was the disbelief that you were that bad you lost to us. The fact that van Gaal has won all 4 ties against Liverpool is hilarious.

Out tacticed but they won on a fluke, so be it . I said at the time if it keeps that old dinosaur at your lot for a while longer I'd take that. ;)

There were tactics in that game? You've lost to his United four times in a row. He should have been sacked a few months ago. Losing or drawing against your lot, however unlikely, was never going to change a thing.

His point is, I assume, that in the scheme of things it would have meant very little. The board seem desperate to hold onto Van Gaal for the rest of the season or at least until a top 4 finish seems impossible. They've probably agreed something in principle with a manager to take over next season already and having Giggs step in before then would be riskier than keeping Van Gaal, an actual football manager, at the helm.

The fans would have been more pissed off about losing against Liverpool, particularly the shambolic Liverpool of the present, than any other team but that wasn't going to happen! Smiley wink.
