Just got Cove promoted to the Second Tier of Scottish Football. Good luck to him.

Seems to have a pretty decent track record at least. Appears promising for Hartlepool at first glance.

He also got Dundee up to the SPL. Can't complain with his track record. Was expecting much worse.

Big step up most are part time at that level, but everyone has to start somewhere. Probably best not ask us City fans about players and managers from below SPL, safe to say we’ve not had the best experiences:err:

Over the moon with this, yes four of his promotions with part timers but won the First division with Dundee.
Hard twat as a player & apparently still takes no shit.
Very reminiscent of Neale Cooper.
Know nothing about the guy but with some of the names getting thrown about im not unhappy at all.

If he’s anything like Neale Cooper then could turn out a very good appointment

Neale Cooper was not very good for us (for reasons I won’t go in to), so I find that comparison strange. He did have an excellent record for Pools both before and after though.

This new guy sounds like a decent choice in fairness.

Best of luck to him and yourselves just think would your fans be excited if it were someone who’d had success at National League North which is essentially what it is. Still everyone has to start somewhere so doesn’t mean he can’t do a decent job but I wouldn’t hold much stead in achievements up there the standard is appalling. He was a good player though back when I watched a bit of SPL. Think he spent a bit of time at Millwall as well? Imagine he’s a guy who’ll command respect from the players.

No announcement?
Next week now made some joke about the queen not wanting them to make an announcement, pretty typical embarrassing American humour which doesn’t seem to have gone down well with some of their fans. I only know as it’s been plastered over our hashtag as everything they do will be…

Fact is that it's someone up and coming and that was definitely what I wanted, someone like him or Pete Wild. Challinor was of a similar mould, success at smaller clubs and ready for the next point. I'm happier with this than a Grayson or a Woodman, Artell etc.

I think you're right that the players will take him seriously, his assistant has been about as well and it's pleasing to see the club have let him take staff with him. Lee I don't think had enough authority about him and things were let slip too easy. Chairman said he's increased the budget a lot for this season so let's hope he's true to his word. Challinor left because he wasn't backed, hopefully it's a different story now. I'm inclined to think that might be the case as he rejected our first offer so there should be something for him to work with.

Americans don't have a sense of humour - they have humor though

Aye it’s worth a gamble over that dinosaur Grayson, think Artell could have been a good shout though did well at this level last time wasn’t really backed by Crewe.

The comparison was with Cooper working his way through the Scottish leagues with Ross County.
Unfortunatley for the Gills,he just wasn’t the same person when he left Pools.

No.

And I wish the new guy the best of luck too, always had a soft spot for Pools. Let’s hope for some decent games between us next season.

Oh dear. It seems the queen asked them not to piss on her parade.

If shit happens say " shit happens, let's move on". Tired, stupid excuses packaged as a joke are not going to cut it with me.

No idea why wagmi haven't announced who the new manager is but the way they have announced it has dropped them in my estimation.

One thing I'm beginning to get. I, and my fellow fans, are not their main interest.

Casey
