If Cowley gets appointed I look forward to pictures of him tidying up the changing rooms of away matches on his own. Does he still make himself centre of attention?

Just a twitter rumour but Hughes has been linked with Birmingham.

Tbh if we don’t go up and we got offered compensation I wouldn’t complain, then go get someone like Clarke or the Notts County manager if they don’t come up.

Not the sort of rumour you want before the POs.

Just like Garner who was already talking to Charlton when we were in the POs.

Maybe it’s time for a change anyway.

Mind you -- I expect Swindon fans did'nt mind him talking to other clubs . Possibly not while you were still in with a chance of promotion though.

Flynn got rid of Menayase replaced him with a 40 year old bloke
Flynn got rid of Rodney and replaced him with 36 year old Andy Williams
Terrible decisions with hindsight.Just hope he does better at Swindon looking at it he signed some utter dross here.

Peter Clarke, the “40 year old bloke” had been in the L2 team of the season before signing. He’d also been offered a new deal at Rovers, but with a coaching role on the understanding he’d not get to play so often and he preferred to move on. I’d not expected him to wane so badly. At the time he looked like a good signing for you.

Looking at that shortlist of managers, you’ve a decent list of contenders to replace Flynn, unlike Rovers who appear to have gone for a cheaper option.

Mat Sadler for Walsall then... given some of the other names linked and without knowing basically anything about how good he's been as a coach over the last few years... I'd be a little underwhelmed. But I was underwhelmed with Russell Martin when he got announced for us and he did alright until he jumped ship.

I know that feeling, 12 months later and we were relegated into L2 and we’re still here.
We tried it as well and ended up near the relegation zone. I’m happy we’ve gone back to bottling the playoffs.

We did the same last summer, took forever to supposedly interview lots of candidates and ended up settling with Scott Lindsey, who had been part of the coaching setup with Garner who had left to go to Charlton. It was a very unpopular decision and Lindsey never stood a chance really.

OH absolutely, if it pays off then it's a good roll of the dice. It will be interesting to see how Tranmere and Walsall do next season.

Also, David Artell keeps being linked with roles but never seems to get anything, I wonder why.

How much time do you have for me to tell you why Artell is still out of work?

Signing 25 year old Bassala Sambou, a "striker" with 3 league goals to his name at the timetable, to an 18 month contract on a high wage plus giving him an extra year if he played 10 games in 22-23. Sambou scored 2 goals in 21-22 (both hilariously shit) and 0 league goals this season in 27 appearances, which means he's under contract for next season, thus hamstringing us along with 3 or 4 more bad contracts he negotiated. Poor Lee Bell has got a lot of mess to clear up.

Artell went from rising young manager to unnecessary totalitarian dictator to 8 year old playing football manager in the space of 6 months. It was quite the decline. Funny to a neutral but sad to those who appreciated the good times he gave us.

Graham Alexander's odds to join us have dropped massively today. Whether that means anything or not I'm not sure as Appleton's odds were similar a few days ago.

Going off his stats I'm pretty happy with that, he seems to have done well everywhere he's been in England to start with, with 2 promotions under his belt and a very good run to the L1 play offs with Scunthorpe. I couldn't say anything about what sort of football we'll play though, I don't think I've watched a Graham Alexander team since 2018.

I think if Salford had stuck with him they would be in Lge 1 now, imo.
Because he was at salford i think he will want to keep it on the ground.

I don’t think so. His football with them was so dull by the end. They passed it but lots of sideways and back and you’d expect with the money spent on the squad.

Started really well at Motherwell but ended on a run of 5 wins in 23 that got him the sack.

He’s not a bad manager/tactician but it seems players lose interest after a while.
