I'm not sure Warnock would be any good in the 4th Div -- His specialist area is the Championship.
Notts are laughing then as according to Notts County Zone they have a Championship side anyway.

Sure someone on here claimed the attacking part is that standard on here other day.

Notts need Warnock imo your gonna be wasting your time with all these wanabees ,got lucky with luke ,but it wont happen again

He was rather good and more importantly successful. The Two head coaches appointed by owners have both resulted in us receiving compensation. Unlikely to get a Luke Williams again but better chance than we've ever had before.

Whoever it was isn't far wrong. I can't think of any other clubs strike force which is closer to championship standard than McGoldrick and Langstaff. Although would be intrigued to hear suggestions.

Put him in a good side in the National League and he's clear top scorer and breaks the record for that division. Put him in a decent side at L2 (first season) and he's clear top scorer (to date) and best minutes per goal. If he joined a top side in L1 I bet he would be that league's top scorer. Of course multiple Championship sides are interested and he's definitely worth £1m+. These sort of attacking talents don't come around very often.

Oh and National League defence I believe was also quoted at the time

Warnock would be a class appointment. Has he actually ever done a bad job? You don't hear many players that played for him that don't like him. They'll always be the odd few but the majority rave about him.
I've heard and read quite a bit of bullshit that Warnock couldn't work with our team because of its make up. I think it's frankly insulting to suggest Langstaffs goals would dry up, Jones would stop putting in inch perfect crosses and all the rest of the good stuff.
He'd tighten up the defence, likely play far less across the back but people forget that in our promotion years under him we played some good, exciting football, it was not hoofball by any stretch.

Talking about perspective seven figures for langstaff is crazy
Langstaff not worth at least a million quid? Kin ell staggie I’d lay off the San Miguel if I were you.

As well as the goals he’s massively improved his out of the box work this season. I’ll give him a backhanded compliment and say he now plays a bit how Paul Mullin played last season, and presumably this. (Without the diving, fouling, kicking out and constant moaning at refs of course)

That would be Ben Whitfield (he’s scored 7 in 741 mins).

Really? The league's top goalscorer. Why not? That said, he was nullified when Notts County visited us earlier on in the season.

Langstaff is a top player - three seasons in a row he's scored lots of goals so it's clearly not just a fluke, although I notice he hasn't scored against any of the top 7- he needs to start stepping up for the big games a bit more. Seems to shrink in them, although I suppose Notts aren't usually having as much of the ball. in those games.

Only thanks to a truly wonderful save from your keeper right in front of me. That's Langstaff will make lots of runs where he never gets the ball, works hard for the team, won't touch the ball for long periods, then goal. He puts himself in the right place so often and is obviously clinical hence the stupid number of goals the past 2.5 seasons.

Agree with English Red, he is a bit of a flat track bully and for potential suitors his lack of goals against better sides should be a concern however he doesn't shrink he just gets paid very close attention from better defenders. The huge number of goals makes sure he is man marked closely.

You are right it's not crazy at all , it's simply the San Miguel talking

I'm surprised Charlton haven't put in a bid, they seem to be after every other striker going at the moment.

A couple of seasons ago we had Max Watters scoring for fun at this level* but he had never done it before. Cardiff paid 7 figures for him.

Langstaff is scoring lots here, scored lots in previous seasons too.

However, 7 figures for a league 2 striker is silly money.

Casey

* Didn't make it at Cardiff. Neil Harris subbed him in one game after 20 minutes. He is currently at Barnsley.

Sure, here you go:

Safe to say you haven't quite understood the statement.

Who knows maybe Rotherham United would be prepared to swap their front two for ours if given the opportunity.

Clarke-Harris is as close to guaranteed goals you can get in L1 and cheaper so you can understand why he is the #1 target.

*cheaper transfer fee wise

Surprised he’s not scored against any of the top 7 but I suppose it doesn’t help him that the entire team shit a brick in those games.

Calm down Conks, no need to be so dramatic. It's our first year back at this level and obviously last season's National League was the poorest ever.

He's got 3 years left on his contract so I'd laugh at about £1m if I was Notts. Would start talking at double that probably.

The contract length (& goals record) is the key to his valuation. We are very lucky (although clearly by design by the owners) to be in this position of either having a top class forward at the club for 3 years or more likely ££££££ when sold.
