Im surprised they havent moved in with the Salford Rugby team, far better stadium. Yeah it seems odd that with the money they have they havent sorted their training facilites. They could have got carrington for an affordable price.

Sale sharks also play Rugby union on that pitch......Got enough tinpot pitches as it is.
Surprised Neville not put a offer in for gigg lane

Never underestimate what a good quality training ground can bring, although ironically we’ve been pretty shite at Mansfield since we opened our new one but it’s going to benefit massively long term.

That would be the sort of publicity he doesn't want. Feeding on the carcass of the club he apparently supported as a kid.

Not like Maisy to be controversial.

Not controversial in any way ...Tammy .The Neville family should have stepped up. Maybe as part of a consortium.
They had no loyalties what so ever to Salford.
There again he pokes his nose into another clubs business each week as a Sky Tv commentator.

No, but it's much easier to take over a nothing club like Salford and do what you like with it than take over a club with a Football League history and tradition like Bury.

Could you imagine them trying to make Bury wear red, or changing the badge to a lion because they fancied it. That sort of shite wouldn't have washed.

Some people at Salford were unhappy with the changes, but 10-15 people moaning out of about 100 or so pales into insignificance compared to a few thousand complaining.

Neville Dad was a employee for Bury most of his working life.
Why would he want to change there identity???
Bury coat of arms is a lot more traditional than a lion
Again why would he want to change that?

The club was ready made and did have a good football History......Thats all gone now.

Trying to stick up for Bury here yet people go opposite of what i am saying Strange

With the dosh Lin has at his disposable, are there no suitable sites to build a new stadium? Mind you, move too far outside of Salford and their ‘support’ would be non existent.

The last thing football needed was another football league club situated in the North West , Clubs falling over themselves to attract support and another bloody club pops up. For that reason alone i hope the Salford project fails, Always makes me laugh when Newcastle and Sunderland brag how well supported they are, Stick them 12 miles from Manchester and Liverpool and see how many they would attract.

Sure they said the opposite at the start of this season. Didn't they close their academy and say they were going to focus all their resources on getting to the Championship?

How long do we give Bowyer then? Think he'll last till the end of the season?

He’ll last 3 games and then get replaced by Harry Kewell, who will last 5 games and then be replaced by Eric Cantona.

Salford is and always has been a big Man UTD stronghold.........You can put the stadium anywhere in the City
And it wont make a jot of difference to the crowds.....They will only sell out when the is a big away following

Yeah I said at the time too, Salford start their life as a league club the same season that Bury fold, they pretend they're supporting lower league football, but for who? Salford's half a dozen fans or Bury's thousands? If they really cared about lower league football as opposed to just creating a mini-ManU for the sake of a documentary then they'd have put their money somewhere where it would mean more to more people even if it came at the cost of not being able to totally redesign the club to suit their fantasies.

Gary and Phils mum and dad loved the club and it was their club. Gary and Phil dont really care about Bury in the slightest and they never have and they never will. They arent interested in taking over an established club, they needed a vanity project to show off with and Salford was the perfect club for that.

They have there main Rivals as Orient......nope neither do i....

We beat them to the National League title two seasons ago. Weren’t afraid to let the bankrolled tinpot hobby club with no fans know that they are a bankrolled tinpot hobby club with no fans. That’s it.

It also isn't just Gary and Phil. There's Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and, most importantly of all, Peter Lim.

It's all well and good saying they should have invested in a struggling League club, but that doesn't look like a fairytale and get BBC, and later Sky, documentaries talking about how you're taking a tiny club through the divisions to the promised land of the Football League.

Roy Keane has probably been to watch Salford more than most of those 5.

I wonder how many of them really care and I doubt they make the final decision?

Maybe Giggs will take over if he gets sacked at Wales for the off field issues

Think Chris Beech might be one defeat away from the sack here.

Seemed unthinkable a few months ago, but we’ll see what happens if we lose against Crawley on Tuesday.

For once I'm glad our board are very slow to react when things are going bad. I don't think sacking him would be a good move for us anyway, and if there are extraneous circumstances behind our collapse (i.e. covid and training ground issues) and it isn't just bad management then they'll know about these.

I don’t see the point in sacking him. We need a bit of stability. A new manager would likely want a complete summer overhaul, when really I think we only need 4 or 5 better quality players in certain positions and Beech probably knows that.

The reason I think he might be close to the sack is 1 win in 13 is absolutely sackable form and if this was the start of the season he’d already be gone (even with our board), and now so many fans are calling for him to go and with potential season ticket sales to consider, they may end up forced to make a decision.

Lose to Crawley and I think he’s gone.

You wonder how aware the board are about fans calling for his sacking. With no fans in the ground they'd have to be paying attention to social media to be aware.

Also it's impossible really just going off social media to know how big the calls for his head are. It could just be a noisy handful of folk.

I'm sure Holdsworth will be championing Beech's cause in the boardroom too. He seems to be a big fan of Beech.

It was being discussed quite a bit on Radio Cumbria as well. I think they’ll be aware. Clibbens uses Twitter. I really do think they’ll be concerned about season ticket sales if this carries on and we finish the season in this form. It will put a negative on the club over whole summer.

I'm not overly concerned about ST sales if Beech stays to be honest, hopefully they'll feel the same. Also though, I hope we manage to finish the season in decent form, or at least showing signs of getting back to what we were before the break. For me now that's the objective of our season... try and recover at least some of that amazing feel-good there was around the club in the first half of the season, though not at the cost of next season.

I can understand Beech throwing shit at the wall in the hope that some sticks given for the past few weeks we've had little to lose and the faint hope of getting back into the promotion picture still glimmers. Given some of the dire performances and the inexplicable loss of form among what were our most consistent players, you have to just try different things. Eventually you are gonna run out of ideas, especially when the malaise has affected the entire squad and any player you bring in is as off form as the one he replaces. I can understand him not playing Ethan Walker too given he isn't our player so we've nothing to gain by giving him experience.

I can understand it but also inevitably it looks bad when the manager is unable to affect performances and has no more plans he's yet to try, and to many fans Beech now looks like he's lost the plot. There may be method in the madness but people don't see that. It's about next season now and we may as well approach the remaining 11 games as though they're 11 pre-season friendlies. Identify those players who are going to form the core of the squad next season and give them as much game time as you can. Chopping and changing is bad for morale and with promotion out of reach there's no longer any real benefit to doing so because even if we do find something that works for a bit, it's going to be too little too late.

Carlisle fans, watch the highlights of Crawley's games v Barrow and Port Vale. Our defending is absolutely laughable at the moment. I expected a better showing yesterday after what happened at Barrow but was sadly disappointed. It was not just the goals though. Ten Bob bits on our heads, panic inside. Constantly giving chance after chance. We were terrible.

We are the perfect team to get you back on track but the bad side is that owners tend to be very unforgiving when team lose to us...it was ONLY Crawley ! How can you lose that? You're fired.

Colchester, Grimsby and Oldham fans said much the same things and it was only thanks to a last minute equaliser and a strange decision to disallow a Grimsby goal that we took a single point from those three games.

Didn't Beech only sign a contract extension in January?

Personally I think your board should stick by him and give him every chance to turn it around, he's a rookie manager and is still learning. Carlisle won't go up or down this season.

Having said that, 1 win in 14 is asking for action to be taken.

If it's covid related then less action may be required than might seem

True but we have also done the double over Crawley which tells you all you need to know about them.

Bowyer only on 'loan' to Salford until end of the season. He will return to Derby in the summer.

Old pals act, Rooney helping out Neville.

Is this the first time a manager has gone on loan to a club, is it even allowed?

Tinpot Salford showing once again that the vanity project is a joke and like most other fans, hope it blows up in their faces again. The sooner they are back in non league football the better.
Stourbridge have loaned their manager Mark Yeates to Solihull Moors
