you’ve got a greater pote

Whereas there’s no doubt that bradford have more potential than morecambe it’s only useful if you’re actually any good. But as bolton have proved obviously a bigger club can fly. what fans of larger clubs need to be aware of and not fall into that trap is go “oooh we were decent once and we deserve this that and the other” (not that you’ve shown any such behaviour from what i know of you)

In a realistic sense over the last few years on the pitch there isn’t anything between bradford and morecambe.

it’s a logical move as the pitfall of being a morecambe is that it’s ultimately a ship window for other clubs to pick them off

Tbf very few clubs aren't shop windows for clubs higher up the food chain. Only the likes of Man City can claim otherwise I reckon.

fair,

but that’s the equivalent of being a shrimp and being picked off by a tuna than being picked off by a whale.

I agree 100% with you about not been much in Morecambe and ourselves over the past 3 years ago, and I acknowledge that this season they have been far better than us.

I am not arrogant enough to think that we are a big club, however, the fact remains we do have far more potential than Morecambe overall.

I'm sure Derek Adams realises the potential we offer, and if he does indeed leave Morecambe next week to join us, its up to him to realise our potential and deliver a team to get at least back to the level we were when Phil Parkinson left us a few years ago. Parkinson is still revered as our special one by many thousands of Bantams.

I saw that but do you think he still goes even if he takes Morecambe up or do you reckon he just doesn’t think he can keep them up next season on their budget?

I think he knows they'll get pumped every week in League 1, so better to move to Bradford with a promotion under his belt and pretend it's a 'project'.

Please explain comment?
Barrow is a poison chalice....What do the owners really expect ?
Survival is enough, but they want more.
They are fishing in a small pond.......who can they really attract

You mean like Accrington in L1 and probably in L2 as well. I'm sure all the same was said about them.

I may be out of date, but do Barrow still mostly (or completely) train in Manchester and travel up for home games regardless of who is in charge?

It's been Manchester-ish sort of area for the past five or so years. Apparently the chairman said on the radio last night that we're moving training base again this summer, though I'm sure it'll still be in or around Manchester.

To be honest, it's been a massive help for us signing players and I couldn't care less where they're training.

A bit surprised at Micky's return tbh. However a manager who's got a proven track record at this level and in tune with the fans, couldn't have got anyone better.

Made up with Mellon returning. Makes sense all round. Massive rebuild needed this summer now. Someone ITK on our forum reckons he has been promised a top 3 budget.

Absolutely delighted with that but he has a major job in front of him with only 4 players signed up for next season with one of them out until possibly Christmas and another a virtually untried kid. Who are offered new deals should be very interesting.

Very good appointment In my opinion
Its got us lot smiling again. Not going to make any predictions except that we will have a team that give a crap and play for the shirt, not just some of them. He knows how to build team spirit. Hopefully another party in a posh (until we are in there) new fan zone next year.

Sounds like he should hit the ground running…

It seems like a lot of teams will have very strong budgets next season and it will be interesting to see who makes the best of them. You’d imagine Mellon will have Tranmere towards the top of the league.

As this season shows, it's not all about budget. We have very few (4) players under contract atm and of those 1 is an injured goalie and another a young forward who's not ready for regular first team action. Think there may be about 4/5 of the out of contract players Micky might try to keep, whether they'll accept any offers is another matter. I hope that fans expectations are realistic, hopeful of being in the right area at the end of next season, but surprising if everything gels straightaway.

Rene Gilmartin has been named as McGreal's assistant. I assume he'll be our reserve keeper also. Good way for Power to cut costs.
