Would have had Curle back here if the timing of his departure from Oldham was better, and if Curle hadn't already fallen out with our owners. Not to knock the job Keith Millen is doing because he clearly understands the job ahead of him and has done about everything he can to improve us but Curle has that bit more fight in him, and he remains popular with the fans.

Wouldn't mind Curle here either with what's currently on offer, though he does seem to get sacked everywhere he goes.

Curle is like one of them from the endless Prem gravy train of the same managers all the time. Except in L2 terms.

I had a look at his record and it's very mixed to be fair, some of his previous like him, others think he's shite.

I'd rather not go for him but he's preferable to some of the cringeworthy NL dross we've apparently been interested in.

I’d never want a merry go round manager. Take a punt on either a young head coach type or a newly retired ex pro.

Recently we’ve had a Flitcroft, Phil Brown and the dreadful fraud, John Sheridan.

I loved Wellens and although I wasn’t impressed with Garner’s appointment you can’t argue with the league table.

Yeah I mean we're sending letters to Woking FC for their manager and in turn they are scrumpling the fuckers up and chucking them in the recycling.

Is he that bad, genuinely? Recent promotion on his CV from this league.

The football isn't great. He’s too welded to certain formations as well, persisted with set ups that didn’t suit the players he had and was too reluctant to change.

He’ll stabilise a club in the short term I think, and he got us out of the league but was pretty fortunate with how the season ended which saw us beat Vale to the playoffs by a fine margin. He’s a limited lower league manager who’s cons outweigh his pros.

I remember when Sheridan was manager at Oldham & they played some great football.
Didn't he win the Championship at Chesterfield?
Mixed legacy with us. He only managed us for 6 months and in that time we got to 4th in the league and went on a six-game winning run which culminated in beating Oldham 6-0. Then he walked out to manage Chesterfield in their NL relegation battle.

We didn't have a great start to the season and though things picked up it was clear in the first few games that he wasn't going to be a fun character to have around when the team were losing. But overall his communication with fans was decent and his grumpy demeanour seemed more endearing when we were doing well. However as time went on it was clear that he wasn't happy and also that he'd lost the dressing room, some of them could barely contain their delight when he quit.

We ended up failing to qualify for the playoffs and though most of the blame for that has been given to Pressley, I think Sheridan takes a good chunk of it, after all it was his squad that Pressley inherited, we were fairly reliant on loanees who were recalled in January and there's every chance we'd have slumped even had Sheridan stayed. Arguably Sheridan saw this and decided to get out while it still looked decent on his CV. He may have succeeded in getting us to the playoffs where Pressley failed but I think it would have been a tight call and it seemed he wasn't up for the challenge.

At this point we're now 4 weeks down the line, it's gonna be some Jonny Donuts from an U19 team somewhere.

Pete Wild was asked about it and basically hand waved it away unless he was just being coy on the matter another name to chalk off.

Wild would absolutely be someone we should be getting. Interestingly he said 'not at the moment'. Implying he might otherwise be interested if Challinor hadn't given him a rundown.

Almost forgot Challinor can,t be trusted.
He talked players into re-signing, Then left them.
No wonder Featherstone said he was gutted.
He,s no friend of anyone regarding Hartlepool.

Still wish him all the best, We had a rollercoaster season.
And for that i will always be greatful.

Sheridan was willingly complicit in trying to ruin our club at Power’s behest.

He knew full well that Power wanted the club as it’s least attractive so there was no likelihood of any other buyers than the mythical Able company he wanted to sell to. That would have enabled him to place the club in Admin and wipe the financial slate clean - especially the £6m he owed Michael Standing which is now subject to a court case.

Thank God for Clem!

I heard it was Nelson but it's possible he's been asked about an assistant's role.

Woodgate would be a logical appointment seeing that we love ex Borer managing the club.

But he's a bit of a doyle and doesn't know the level.
