And now the local paper is reporting that it will be Graham Coughlan, FFS i know its not the greatest job in football but surely we can attract better than that, if not we are up shit creek without a paddle.
4th biggest job in Wales sounds pretty great to me like

Glad to see Coughlan get another chance, very honest decent bloke but was admittedly absolutely atrocious here. My gut is he will do ok at Newport.
I am willing to give whoever is appointed a chance! but if it is Coughlan i pray he replicates his work at the gas and not his work with you.

Coughlan was awful, the worst win percentage ever with us, by a fair distance too. You just know he'll win at our place next week though

he cost us even after he’d gone, removed all forms of creativity and width from the squad, lord knows what he was thinking.

Didn’t really have a personality which resonated with either the fans or the players.

Mcshittery and Eyre’s sacked, no choice really, absolutely no idea who we will get to replace but I’m sure a suitable list of shite options will be posted shortly
The Grim Reaper is very angry, denied a victim so nicely prepped like that - maybe turning attention to Johnnie Jackson - after this appeared on Wikipedia
After a 1-0 loss at home to Sutton United on 15 October, Jackson soon realised a career as a clown would be better suited to him

Out of the blue (not the elo album) JFH is now 2/1 fav for the Newport job, i like JFH so i would be happy with that.

Oh yeah!! out of the blue is a brilliant album, jeff Lynne is a genius.
I don't think JFH would have been a good option. Seemed to sign two players a week at Burton and results were very streaky.

Bartonyellow was a big fan of him, though...

He got lucky with Clarke-Harris as he could win games on his own. The football was really dire though....one of those where you enjoyed the result but not the games.
Stange how he wanted to be near family in Sheffield when he left us in the lurch and is now equally far away in Newport.

Not strange at all, the bloke isn’t being offered a managerial job anywhere else. At the time the move made sense for him location wise and probably financially was atleast matched.

Location clearly wasn't an issue for the previous 10 years while he was in Plymouth, Southend and Bristol. He had just taken us to 4th in L1 then jumped ship to take over a L2 side.
Didnt, and doesnt make sense - I cant wait to face him again and give him stick as he really fucked us over that season

Oh yeah he fucked you over no doubt, but I’m sure him living 45 minutes away was a big factor in moving. I’d of gotten over it by now but each to their own.

I dont really think about him now, its only when his name pops up.
Still very strange he couldn't finish the job (literally 6 months more after spending 11 years in the south as a coach) and, no disrespect to Mansfield, he would have had a lot better options around that area in the summer.

Lots of fans saying we should give our job to Lewis Young. Unbeaten since he got the caretaker role so it's not a bad shout. Plus he retired from playing with us so knows the club and fickle fans very well.

It has taken a long time to appoint someone which could mean so many great applicants or none at all.

Matthew Eherington appointed Crawley's new manager.

It's great to get such an experienced man in. Now, if only he was experienced in football management.

Richie Wellens signed a 2 year contract extension:

Hopefully this means we can tie down a few of our better players.

Good bit of business that for you. A lot of Bantams fans would have welcomed Wellens before we landed Hughes.

Should be good game on Saturday, full allocation of Bantams travelling down. We have a healthy contingent of London based fans too

Would not have signed if funds were not available, Certain of that.
And judging by the way he goes about things
Also think he will already have players ready to come in.

Starting to get a bit skeptical about Curle with what I hear about the training. Loads of days off, weird training start times, duration and the like.

He can't be blamed for the players he has but could he be getting a bit more out of them? Think he's only 2 points better off than Hartley and the football is not much better.
