Expect to come up against a competitive Mansfield side, although I can't say much more as they are only one of two teams I've not seen yet. Fancy we will lose this 2-1, Marquis will get our goal.

Ideal line up:

Marquis - Simpson
McAnuff
Payne - James - Pritchard
Shaw - M'voto - Baudry - Clohessy
Cisak
Possibly may well be making this one.

Could orient play Ollie Palmer upfront? Please?

How another club in league 2 took that useless waste of space is beyond me

I regret not calling this thread the Ollie Palmer derby. There is a strong chance he will start, he shouldn't.

Jump to 50 seconds for some classic Super Ollie:

Not even the best target man to leave Mansfield over the summer :ffs:

How the fuck is that team/squad not even in the play offs?
If Hendon doesn't start winning games very quickly he has to be gone, doesn't he?

We're a bit rubbish at home so no idea what to expect, I'd take a draw to be honest.

Fuck sake Palmer is wank. I'd forgotten just how awful some of our players were last season. He works hard but he's absolute turd infront of goal. Had his chance to become a hero here and missed a sitter in the 93rd minute when it was 0-0 against Chesterfield. His wife/girlfriend is a mouthy tart aswell.

I could understand his reaction after leaving in the Summer as he will have received abuse that no one deserves from our fans, But for him and her to come on Facebook slagging the club off and then to have a dig at Matt Green did it for me. The wannabe posh twat. Hope McGuire plays and ends him.

Anyway, Onto the match Orient have some real quality in there side and it's surprising they're not top 3 IMO especially after the great start. We are abit hit and miss at home, We can't be as bad as we were v Exeter though. I think it will be another draw but really hoping we go out and actually beat a top 10 side for the first time this season.

You likely to bring many up? Been a while since we met, And with it being 2 1/2 weeks since our last home game we might actually push 3000 home fans. Massive

Just to note if Palmer does indeed score I will be back in the Patey before he has finished celebrating!

No surprise there, you're always in the pate ;)

What was the Green dig about from Palmer?

Only at half time these days though mate. Must of been spending £30 a game in there after Christmas last season!

Something like we've signed a striker who's not scored in 2 years or something. I just replied and put if only he'd had the game time you had to which his lovely girlfriend responded with 'twat'

Its embarrassing :ffs: He tactics are crap.

I'm pretty sure he will be on the bench because Marquis is back and Jobi McAnuff played well on his return last week, he's started 12 of the last 11 games and his only 2 goals were against Staines - A side 3 leagues below ours.

He has made an impact from the bench in a few games and helped us grind out a few draws and a win here and there with his workrate and aerial presence leading to a few assists, but his composure and instinct in front of goal is very poor, he is everything I was expecting when he signed, to think you got £20k or whatever it was for him, a gamble from Hendon which hasn't really paid off.

He has been playing up front with Jay Simpson - the leagues leading scorer for fucks sake and his goal return from league starts still reads 0. He scored one from the bench back in August against Stevenage.

Its all ticket for us, I'd say it'll be between 400-600.

Last time we met was April 2006, when Matt Lockwood scored a penalty for us and we won 1-0, Kevin Pressman was in goal.

I've only seen you beat us twice at Field Mill in my 22 years, 2-0 back in April 2001, Shayne Bradley scored one and then 5 months later 3-2 back in September 2001 on a Friday night.

We will lose Saturday, ever since we drew Chelsea on Monday if we win our cup replay, thats all everyone has been going on about FFS, we're nailed on to get beat.

Genuinely don't understand why it's all ticket for away fans.

There is literally no reason for it, is there? Maybe they saw us take 1,700+ to Cambridge and panicked? Very odd.

4-0 Mansfield. Clohessy sent off after we miss 20 chances in the first 10 minutes.

Because we've had lots of problems with SAG (Safety advisory group) in the last 10 years. At one point we were only allowed 5000 in. To get our capacity back up to 100% we have had to go down the allocated seating route, All ticket for both fans, Think the main reason we don't sell to away fans on the day is so we know how many to expect for stewarding etc.

I don't agree with it and have had many a debate with the Broughton's who deal with all this shit but the SAG/Notts Police have us bent over.

If you do come up on the day you will get a ticket though but obviously we can't advertise that.

All of our games are all ticket and have been for a couple of years. Even pre-season friendlies!

It makes a huge negative impact on our attendances and deserves a massive collection of dunces hats for all involved.

I've a feeling for a healthy Orient win, with the guaranteed Palmer goal and wild celebration. Something we never got to see during his 'try hard, score little' spell in the amber and royal.

The only way IMO Palmer is playing is if Jay Simpson isn't fit. He has started 12 of the last 13 or whatever it is and hasn't scored in the league in any starts, he missed a sitter last week and John Marquis is a much better player and IMO should start up front with Simpson if he is fit.

Theres alot of talk regarding our cup replay and the potential of playing Chelsea, I can't see us getting anything here. Plus Hendon is a crap manager.

Mansfield have suprised a few, but they have some decent players for this level in their side and Matt Green is finding his for.

We will lose.

Marquis - Simpson/Palmer
McAnuff
Payne - James - Pritchard
Shaw - M'voto - Baudry - Clohessy
Cisak

Subs:
Grainger
Essam
Kpekawa
Moncur
Turgott
Kashkett
Simpson/Palmer

Yes, I see above that it happens every game, presumably because you are all scab scumbags. Never mind.

Of course you'll know all about that won't you fella?
Perhaps when you come to Mansfield you'll like to meet my 70 year old father and his miners striking brothers (all from Mansfield) and explain to them why they are all scabs?

It'd make for interesting watching, seeing a passionate old man eat you for breakfast and send you back down to the smoke with a flea in your ear.

Three wins since August, won 3 drawn 8 lost 5... Not great. Mansfield look a steady top half outfit, it was a decent point, just not in the context of the performance or recent form.

Did we? I thought we were wank to be honest. Couldn't string anything together in the first half and was lucky to have a goal.

Our fans really can be our worst enemy at times, I agree that for the umpteenth home game running, we've set up defensively at home, started incredibly slowly and once more gone behind early doors.
However, we have fought back in to the game, got the equalizer and given a decent account of ourselves by the end in a fairly even game of few clear cut opportunities.

Yet a section of our support is once more ignorant of the circumstances. It's been a dog of a day. It's rained non stop all day. It's been breezy and the pitch was as heavy as it could possibly have been without getting called off. But, these few naysayers are wanting silky football and slick passing, which was near on impossible.

Stags and Orient served up about as good as could be expected all considering. Both sides put in the effort and seemed happy with a point each.
If folks turned up in that monsoon at 3pm expecting top draw football then perhaps Division 4 really isn't for them.

Maybe but we still haven't beaten a top half team. Really can't see us being a Top 7 side IMO. That said I'd of taken anything in the top half at the start of the season, It's just frustrating to see the negative set up at home.

Richard, I and probably every other Stags fan agrees with you about the negative tactics at home, however, we have to remember that 8 months ago we were under very serious threat of relegation. We have made significant strides and now look a decent enough top half of the table side.

I don't think we have enough to mount a realistic promotion campaign.
I don't think that we will hang on to a play off spot, despite being in them the majority of the season thus far.
But I do know that we are moving in a positive direction from the mess we were last season, and our lot have to understand that Rome wasn't built in an afternoon.

Murray has done excellent but seems to want to keep playing tactics from last season. His insistent and daft defensive tactics are infuriating and there isn't a stags fan out there who understands it - there are many out there pleased we've moved leaps and bounds since last season and it has to be taken into account.

What is annoying is that he has assembled what I consider the most exciting group of players at Mansfield in a decade and he constantly shackles them, like adam Chapman playing almost as a "sweeper" today - at home! An attacking midfielder?.

Still, in adam I trust

As already said, I don't think either side despite their obvious faults which both sets of fans will no doubt notice, today you wasn't going to get much better due to the conditions - It became a game where both sides settled for the draw in the end. Both sides for me played the game well and gave their all.

Mansfield edged the second half and probably should've won with the free header miss.

We was on top for the first 30mins, but desperately needed to force a second goal as we don't keep clean sheets and Mansfield got a goal when they grew more into the game.

We may have the leagues top scorer, but we're crap to watch and have little strength in depth up front. Palmer is shit and Kashket isn't quite ready.
