Everton always seem to lose to lower league sides anyway in the cups.

We play them soon at home so won't say too much as its bound to come and bite!

I was more disappointed with the Everton players after the game. I was mainly hanging round to speak to Ryan Leonard but my son wanted an autograph from Jordan Pickford. Then in a display of utter pampered premiership football malarky the team coach pulls up 3 feet from the exit door, 2 lines of CIA style security either side, they stomp through heads down ignoring everyone, bar three players.
There was only about 10 people (all with kids) so credit to Theo Walcott, Cenk Tosun and Yerry Mina (on crutches and in a foot boot thing) for breaking ranks and coming to chat with all the people there.

I can't take any more, I want my mum.
Three defeats in 8 days:
Is it the manager or the players? Do the players not want to play for the manager?

Great call Pagnell

Fell nicely into place for Everton. Even taking into the account the money they paid Mr. Middtable to stop the rot after Koeman and Unsworth they're still millions up on what they would have spent to take him off Watford last season.

Silva is a decent manager for a club like Everton. They're not a club who will challenge for the top 4 any time soon (or possibly ever when you look at the money now being spent by the big guns) but there is a decent chance he'll have them fighting for Europa spots within a season or two.

1-0 down and he took off 3 of their better players!

Not sure if Silva was trying to make a point.

Apparently we got a bit of luck with the goal not being a corner but there you go..

Draw might have been fair but guess that sums up Everton's season.

They generally looked pretty toothless up front.

I think Silva is a decent manager though I think you'd have done better to get Eddie Howe instead. However, Everton's problems are not a quick fix with a manager but more a need to add real quality to their squad . I posted on the Sam thread last year that Everton would need a massive retooling to get anywhere close to the top four and I think that's still the case. Everton still have far too many very average players and that's reflected in their league position.
I think the rebuilding has defo begun though but the likes of Lpool , City , Chelsea, Spurs etc are not standing still either .

Well they just need to spend 100 million or so well which might help.

I mean as I said they took off 2 of their most expensive signings and another one of their better players you'd think in Gomes for Walcott and a youngster.

That doesn't show much faith in Richarlison and Sigurðsson to get an equaliser who haven't done too badly this season it seems from the outside.

I think that's 29 games now under Silva where we have conceded first goal and lost every one of them! Too many defeats already this season to 'inferior' teams.

And being useless at defending generally..

Sure they were hard done by the VAR penalty but the other 2 goals could have been avoided.

Mind you probably still beat us !

This result and Derby v Preston where I had Everton winning and both teams to score let my accumulator down.
Everton need Poch but does Poch need Everton is the real question.

Nerys or Mark?
This is the sort of info put out there by directors before they announce someone underwhelming like Tony Pulis and everyone goes ,Oh well it could have been worse.
