Gutted that Bignot has gone but we've known for about a week now that he was going. It was an emotional good bye on Saturday where he came on BOTH supporters coaches to say his final words. A magnificent manager who will always be a legend down the Moors. As for Bignots style of play, the last 2 seasons he has played 5-3-2 which has been very successful with a strong defence but also very exciting attacking displays with the the wing backs coming forward. I think if Marcus had stayed it wouldn't have been long until our home crowds were averaging above 1000. He's only been given a 6 month contract but as people have already said he should be given time because he's a very talented young manager who I believe will go a step higher than Grimsby in his career.
All the best Marcus :bye:

It's actually a 6 month rolling contract the same as what Hurst was on. In theory means he is always under contract for 6 months so Fenty says. So we get compo if he leaves but only 6 months worth and he is only due 6 months worth if he is sacked.

Thanks for explaining.

Some Lincoln fans appear to have mistaken THE COWLEY BOIZ (1 and a bit seasons of managerial experience in the Conference) for Pep Guardiola.

"Grimsby MUST have been interested in Cowley. What - they weren't? They must have realised he wouldn't go there then. He's far too big and clever to be treated DISGRACEFULLY by their fans anyway."

Chatted to Bignot briefly in the bar at Solihull, seemed a top bloke. Surprised he left tbh, seemed very proud of the club and the work done there. Reckon he'll do a good job at Grimsby.

No, come on. He's far too good AND clever for the rest of the National League.

And deservedly manager of the month.

And we need to remember that Mark Cooper definitely wasn't bothered IN THE SLIGHTEST. Yep, he really was not bothered at all. Certainly not bothered.
