Have to admit this is the first I have heard of that guy - is he that good? Can he be THAT good at 16? The figures banded about for his wages are a joke however.

He chose the wrong club. Madrid never bring their talent through (even Jese latterly hasn't been getting games) and he'll probably end up moved on when he's 20 or 21 after wasting his talents there or on loan.

He's going to be filthy stinking rich by the time his contract is up. Lets hope he's driven by more than money and gets plenty of game time.

I think i'd be in rehab by 21 if I was given that kind of money by 16!

Yeah i don't see his career blossoming at Madrid.

That said, he has some serious fucking potential and is a steal at £2.5m

It's a risk worth taking for him and Madrid, he either progresses and has years to do so before becoming a first teamer and if not, then he has a reputation and name just naturally from Madrid to get another good club down the line. One things for sure, 80k a week at 16 years old. Unreal. Just hope he doesn't lose his head.

Thats one exception really. Jese, Morata and Callejon all looked to have had bright futures there when they came through but they now have either been moved on or had their careers stalled. Even before them, I think the last players to come through and really make an impact there were Raul, Casillas and Guti!

He's on 80k a week before he's even kicked a ball for Madrid? That's absolutely crazy. I hope his parents are able to keep his head down. Didn't Madrid offer his Dad a job as a coach or was that just made up?

Think his dad is going to coach kids at Madrid.

Hey, I thought Liverpool were "definitely getting him."

He is very good, I saw some of when Norway played Bulgaria where he broke the record for youngest player to play in a Euros qualification game and he fit in really well, didn't look 15. I'm sure any Football Manager player has heard of him too after the effort they made to get him into the game against their normal rules.

The risk is always moving too early before being fully developed. There are pro's to being at Madrid but then a lot of weaknesses as it will take him years before he even gets near to the first team. Real Madrid produce some very good young players, but few get their chance at Madrid and have to move elsewhere. Out of the clubs interested in him I would have thought Ajax would have been the best choice. Great history in producing youth players, a step up from the Norwegian league but not big enough that he'll have to wait years to get games. Few years at Ajax, be a regular in their team by 19/20 and then find somewhere else, like Madrid.

I think the problem is, and we're all guilty of it. £80,000 a year at 16 is a lot, he could earn more in a year than some of us earn in our lives. Football can be a very short career with injuries and so if the money is being offered for doing largely the same job, you move to the club offering the most.

Once he finds out he isn't going to be the next big thing at the Bernabeu, Liverpool may swoop. I wouldn't write them off just yet in purchasing him down the line (probably once he's washed out! :p ).
