Yep, agree with that.

And then we travel to Halifax the following Tuesday.

We need to win one of those games.

Excellent day for us with both Barnet and Rovers losing at home and Macc only drawing. Not the best of performances from us but we managed to get the 3 points again.

Onto Chester now looking for a 5th successive win and tough games for both Barnet and Rovers again it could start to get very interesting at the top.

It is still in our hands, but we were so awful today and our form generally has been so poor since Christmas that any talk of the title just sounds ridiculous now.

I really don't think anyone will be all that bothered if Allen was sacked if we lose next week, which is staggering when you look at our league position, but our performances have declined so rapidly that people are becoming fed up despite the fact that it's all theoretically still in our hands.

The packs in the Conference are making themselves known now. All of Barnet, Gas, Grimsby and Macclesfield could win the title. FGR, us and Eastleigh for the final playoff spot. Kidderminster, Woking, Torquay and Gateshead I now see as staying off the pace. Then there's an obvious bottom six.

I don't know how the entertainment and quality's been for anyone else, but only a handful of our matches in all competitions have been more than 3*. Our last two I wouldn't even give 1*. I still believe our team could do incredible things because our players have shown their class in the past, but they're never full strength and recently have been way off it. Most of our fans seem to think the league's crap in quality this season but I don't think these things vary that much. How's everyone else found this season in quality and thrills?

Watched all our matches of late but have been pretty on/off with what I've been able to get to in the months before that. Felt starved of football back then, feel just as starved now we're not doing owt.

Really enjoyed todays game. Nice to see some extra fight etc instilled into the team. I think we can see some shoots of recovery.

88 points for Burton in 2009 followed by 95 by Mansfield a few seasons ago, I reckon this seasons will be somewhere between the two

We got relegated from League 2 on goal difference with a record number of points. Now that goal difference is on our side it is only fair that we win the league with a record low number of points level with Rovers.

We can dream...

I thought he was already here? Is this an imitation Padge, or something?

Yeah, that's definitely not Padge because there's a small whiff of optimism in that post.

Very important win for us yesterday, with Eastleigh beating the Gas. Will probably need to over take one of the top 4 to make the play-offs as Eastleigh look in good enough form to win their games in hand.

We were very solid and dealt well with conceding the expected Akinde penalty. Need to see it again as there were suggestions it was outside the box. Akinde's a good player, but seems surprisingly weak given his size, as he seems very prone to falling over at the slightest contact.

Our cracking equaliser from Dale Bennett was crucial as after it Barnet seemed to fade, and played a lot of aimless hoofball, something we're happy to play against. The second half in particular was woeful from them, they looked to have no ideas and just seemed to wilt. The pitch was a bit bumpy, but still much better then some at this level so I was surprised to see so little of the passing football that had ripped us apart last season.

Jon Parkin got his customary goal, the minute you saw Frear cross coming to him there was only one outcome, to have such a sure fire finisher in the side could make a real difference in the run in. He might be big, but having settled he's proving to be a class apart at this level. He's been unstoppable since December. Kurtis Guthrie's bullet header from Rob Sinclair's inswinging corner was another well taken goal, but defensively it was poor from Barnet's perspective. He just seemed to want it far more then any of their defenders, poor given the importance of the game.

After that both Barnet and a number of the home support seemed to give up, with the team producing very little threat and a number of fans heading for the exits about 15 minutes early.

Given Barnet's position in the table I was surprised at the negativity around the place, surely they can't have become such a poor team over night and I'm sure with an experienced head in Allen in charge, they'll still have a say in the title race. They need to play a bit more football though.

Some of our fuckwit followers (can't call them fans) were bragging on coaches home that they'd smashed up seats and the toilets at the Racecourse ground. That's bad enough, but there are fans on Deva Chat who aren't actually condemning it. It was bad enough that the team didn't turn up for the game without that. All in all a day to make me ashamed to be a Chester supporter.

Not to mention the ones who were ridiculously giving it the big 'un in the home end and had a few clacks before they were chucked out. I've not really got that big a problem with the odd 1 or 2 away fans being in the home end as it is such a ballache with the bubble nonsense, but at least use your brain and sit there without deliberately drawing attention to yourselves. I'm sure there must have been others who did this. At least your club will receive the bill to replace the seats though.

To be fair, Deva Chat is condemning it on the whole, the few who aren't are the ones who probably caused the damage.

Vose has stood out for Welling against everyone on here over the last few weeks by the sounds of it. Decent signing for someone in the summer I'd have thought.

Grimsby players in the changing room after yesterdays game when they nicked a load of wigs from our supporters.

FT Welling 0-1 Altrincham :woo:

Poor game and Alty didnt play well. Thought they played better v Barnet looking at the highlights.

Ryan Crowther made a noticeable difference when he came on for Alty.

Think this is a major blow for Welling.

That Domnic Vose looks pretty decent for Welling. Their best player by a fair distance.
He was playing for Colchester Utd this season. He was with us before then but didn't get many opportunities.
